Welcome to the Observiews for Season 4 of Fringe. I call them Observiews because they are more visual observations than deep thinking reviews, if that makes sense.
Screen caps from this episode are taken from fringefiles.com. Dialog is from fringepedia.net/transcripts.
All observations are mine and therefore could be totally off the wall and/or wrong. I have not read or looked at any recaps or reviews. I could also have missed a few things, oh well…
3.09 Marionette
WALTER: “Do you think possibly they replaced her with a robot?”
That line had been stuck in my head since 4.09 Enemy Of My Enemy and I’m not sure why. There is no evidence that Olivia has been replaced by a shapeshifter but…
Someone else might have been. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves.
Glyphs spelled: HENRY
I can already hear the moans and groans because of those 5 letters.
At the end of last week’s Observiews I said “What if Peter never disappeared? What if everything we’re seeing is from Olivia’s perspective?”
Well if this is really the case then Henry did exist. Let’s just be patient and see what happens, okay?
The Observer can be seen here although I don’t think he had anything to do with Olivia’s disappearance.
This is the second episode that picks up right where we left off. Last time was 3.07 The Abducted, going into 3.08 Entrada.
Last week we ended with Olivia kissing Peter, as if they’ve been a couple for a long time already. But Peter was quite shocked.
Let’s see where this is going, shall we?
OLIVIA: “I don't know. It just felt like that's what we'd do. It just felt normal.”
Every time I hear the word “normal” now I have to think of this:
OLIVIA: “Well, I guess that depends on what your definition of normal is.”(1.19 The Road Not Taken)
PETER: “How long have we known each other, Olivia?”
OLIVIA: “Three months. Peter, I know who you are, and I know who I am. I think that this may just be some residual effects left over from being in Westfield.”
Oh Olivia. Westfield was only the beginning!
And sure enough just as she closes the door behind Peter
she sees flashbacks from 2.14 Jacksonville.
Olivia and Lincoln are on their way to Deerfield Hospital to learn more about Sean who describes a crime as it happens.
LINCOLN: “There really aren't any normal days in this job, are there?” OLIVIA: “Nope.”
I was thinking back to 2.01 A New Day In The Old Town. Olivia just found out that the phrase she said to Peter was from his childhood.
OLIVIA: “There really isn't a point where things just can't get weirder, is there?”
I’ll get back to the Greek phrase later.
Walter is already at the hospital, having a deep conversation with one of the patients.
WALTER: “That's when I told him. I said, “Tim, it's not what the L.S.D. can do. It's what the human mind can do that is truly wonderful.””
I wonder if this is who Walter was talking about.
Tim is the agent who watched Walter in 4.01 Neither Here Nor There.
And of course we know how much Walter likes LSD.
These come to mind:
1.01 The Pilot - Walter making LSD so Olivia can go into John’s mind.
1.11 Bound - Walter dosing a caterpillar with LSD.
1.20 There Is More Than One Of Everything - Walter telling Peter, that he saw an alternate universe while on LSD.
3.04 Do Shapeshifters Dream Of Electric Sheep - Walter was tripping.
3.19 LSD - no explanation needed, lol.
As they walk down the hall Olivia is flashing back again.
Memories from when she walked down the hall of St. Claire’s coming to her. (1.01 The Pilot)
“Can you imagine being flooded with years of experiences and memories that were not your own? The mind -- unable to distinguish between what's real and what is not.”
Well, we don’t know yet if these memories are real but I’m sure it feels scary.
Walter talks with Sean and forms a hypothesis.
And in typical “Walter manner” he says to Sean’s doctor: “I believe your diagnosis of the young man is fundamentally flawed.”
Sounds so much like our Walter. Two incidents come to mind where he was going off on other authority figures. 1.15 Inner Child where he was getting at the doctor for not listening to him about the child’s oxygen levels: “Unless you have an IQ higher than mine, I'm not interested in what you think.” and 2.12 What Lies Below where he was chewing out the CDC guy: “and I was Chairman of Biochemistry at Harvard and have little patience for small-minded bureaucrats.”
Anyway, since Sean was there voluntarily (just like Nick Lane in 1.17 Bad Dreams) he agreed to go off medication to assist with the case. The doctor and Olivia just need to convince prescribing physician.
As they walk down the hallway which is mostly blue with just the red exit sign and the green down the hall,
Olivia is having another memory flash by.
This time when she first meets Walter (1.01 The Pilot).
So Olivia goes to see Peter. I guess you could title these next few scenes as “6B re-visited”.
Olivia even knocks 8 times, just like in 3.14 6B. Her demeanor even seemed the same.
OLIVIA: “Hey. Um, this might be a little bit weird, but I was wondering if I could come in and just have a look around.”
I was actually waiting for her to produce a bottle.
Olivia in 6B: “Um... I might be being presumptuous, but, um... I was thinking maybe.”
OLIVIA: “That’s where Walter used to sleep.”
When Walter and Peter got the house in 2.05 Dream Logic, Walter had set up his bed in the living room, to the dismay of Peter.
Another memory is coming from 3.14 6B
PETER: “To disaster narrowly averted.” OLIVIA: “Or at least postponed.”
OLIVIA: “We had that case, that couple in apartment 6-B. The woman who lost her husband. After, I came back here. And then we went upstairs. I remember.”
PETER: “That's not possible.”
OLIVIA: “Peter, I remember William Bell. I remember crossing over to bring you back. I remember Jacksonville and seeing you shimmer the first time we kissed.
I remember... you walking to the machine and getting inside and being scared that you were going to die.”
Peter all the while, totally confused
PETER: “Olivia, I don't know what's going on, but something must be wrong.”
OLIVIA: “I remember it. I remember us. I remember everything.”
Oh wait, wrong movie. I guess Walter couldn’t find the neurostimulator.
Last time he used it on Aaron in 4.03 Alone In The World.
And Olivia isn’t even scared. Just like ours. Walter asks her questions and the answers are clearer with our Olivia’s memories than her own. As I write this, I’m thinking: Well maybe it’s because her own memories were planted there, so she thinks she went by herself. Even exchanging Olivia’s memories with Fauxlivia’s in the beginning of Season 3 didn’t last long. Our Olivia was stronger.
I feel for you Peter. You just want your Olivia back.
But I think you are actually looking at her. Or not?
My favorite part was when Walter shushed them both so he could do his work. But then he lost his thought, lol.
Lincoln comes with information about the case.
OLIVIA: “I’m gonna get my coat.”
LINCOLN: “Where are you going?”
OLIVIA: “To talk to Sean's mother.”
LINCOLN: “Should she be leaving the lab?”
OLIVIA: “You said there's nothing wrong with me physically. So if something shows up in the tests, let me know. Otherwise, we've got a case.”
Does that not sound like our Olivia? It reminds me of 2.02 Night Of Desirable Object when Olivia get’s released from the hospital: “I’m no good at sitting around.”
Olivia and Lincoln go and question Sean’s mom. There are white tulips on the sideboard.
Haha, my best friend has the clock that’s sitting on the side table. I need to ask her where she bought it.
Meanwhile Astrid is talking with Sean at the hospital.
Not only was there pasta on the menu but also the color green again. And it reminded me a lot of St. Claire’s. (1.01 The Pilot)
Back at the lab, Walter prepares tea. And of course since this is Walter he can’t just use a microwave or stove to heat water, he uses lab equipment.
I love his cup. It has a kangaroo as a handle. John Noble is Australian after all.
And Walter drinks his tea with honey, just like Elizabeth. Pouring the honey though must have brought his thoughts back.
The song that’s playing during that is called “The Ghost Who Walks” by Karen Elson.
Olivia is in the back office getting ready to look through files. Peter joins her.
The last time they looked through files back there wasn’t so pleasant. In 3.09 Marionette they had an argument going.
Olivia notices a scar on Peter’s hand.
OLIVIA: “Maybe I don't remember everything, 'cause I -- I don't remember you having this scar.”
PETER: “You wouldn't. I only got that one a month ago. Olivia—“
Which of course leads to this.
You can just feel they both want to be the right ones. And as much as Peter is struggling to not be affected by it, it’s not working.
“The beguiling Olivia Dunham beguiles.”
(3.15 Subject 13)
And of course as it is with most perfect moments, they get interrupted. Walter walks in to inform them of a breakthrough.
WALTER: “how ever these bees are communicating, they are operating as one, doing whatever it takes to ensure the survival of the hive. If Sean and his half-brothers are linked in a telepathic network, then it is possible they have formed a collective identity.”
The “Killer Bees” from 4.13 Welcome to Westfield were the clue for this week’s episode.
Sean was conceived through in vitro fertilization and Olivia and Lincoln tracked down the doctor who did the procedure. He lives in an assisted living facility.
I just had to chuckle at Olivia’s: “You coming?” to Peter.
Cute! And Peter still doesn’t know what to do.
Also the lab had a tint of blue, even Peter was wearing the color of choice “universe”.
So Olivia and Peter pay the doctor a visit.
Kind of reminded me of when they went to see Roscoe Joyce in 3.10 The Firefly.
OWEN FRANK: “The work I was doing at my clinic is merely a means to an end. A vehicle for my real experiments.”
OLIVIA: “What were those experiments?”
OWEN FRANK: “Genetic manipulation. The babies that I gave life to -- I had altered their DNA. I thought... what I thought really doesn't matter. Suffice it to say I -- I was attempting to make a better”
OLIVIA: “A better what?”
PETER: “A better human-being.”
I've said it before I love the titles for each episode and how they are worked in.
I’ll get back to that title later.
OLIVIA: “And they're all from the same donor. All 200.”
OWEN FRANK: “Yes.”
OLIVIA: “And his information is in the storage facility also?”
PETER: “No. It's you, isn't it?”
OWEN FRANK: “Can you imagine that? The hubris of trying to improve upon god?”
I’ll get back to that later as well.
Back at the lab Walter gets the results from Olivia’s hair and it’s not good news.
Walter figured out what’s happening to Olivia and insists that Lincoln take him to see Nina Sharp.
WALTER: “Olivia has Cortexiphan in her system.”
NINA: “Walter, slow down. What are you saying?”
WALTER: “I did a chemical analysis. The results are irrefutable.”
NINA: “Well, how is she? Have you spoken with her?”
WALTER: “I examined her. As far as I can tell, she's not in immediate jeopardy.”
Wait Walter. Are you saying something could happen to her just because she has it in her system? Gah, I want to know what happens. NOW!
LINCOLN: “Where do you store the remaining Cortexiphan samples?”
WALTER: “The ones that Belly and I kept. It's possible someone may have reverse-engineered the formula.”
NINA: “They're at Massive Dynamic, under our tightest security.”
LINCOLN: “In my experience, security can be breached.”
NINA: “No, I don't think you understand. That's physically impossible. The vault is biometrically secured. I am the only one with access.”
LINCOLN: “Could you take us to it?”
WALTER: “Belly and I numbered the samples before we stored them. If anyone has tampered with them, I will know.”
NINA: “Fine. I just need to make a few phone calls.”
LINCOLN: “No calls. The less people who know about this the better.”
NINA: “Let's go.”
Busted!
Olivia and Peter are at the storage facility in Back Bay.
In 1.01 The Pilot Olivia went to a storage facility with John Scott
and after that, nothing was the same anymore.
PETER: “I'm... confused.”
OLIVIA: “I'm confused too. I feel incredibly close to you. I feel like I know you better than anyone else in the world, and then when you look at me, it's like none of that is true.”
PETER: “Olivia, I don't know what you want from me.”
OLIVIA: “I -- I want you to behave naturally. I want you to -- to treat me like you know me better than anyone in the world too. Because you do.”
PETER: “Meaning Walter's theory can't possibly be right. (Peter just learned a fact he didn’t know before) I'm not projecting my memories onto you. You can't have memories that I've never had. I don't understand how this is happening.”
OLIVIA: “I don't understand it either. But whatever this is, whatever the cause, I told you I'm not scared. I like the feeling.”
Well, we don’t understand it either, but I sure want to know what’s going on, argh!
They find the right storage unit, 2251.
Let’s play with the numbers a bit, shall we. 22 is a recurring number and always in conjunction with Olivia here in 3.15 Subject 13
2.05 Dream Logic, the cab number
and the building number in 2.14 Jacksonville. Olivia is standing there looking at it.
The Master Number 22 symbolizes the principle of precision and balance. When it senses its full capacity as a 'Master Builder', it can achieve what is hardly imaginable. The 22 can turn the most ambitious of dreams a reality. It is potentially the most successful of all numbers.
Also: 2+2+5-1=8, which is Olivia’s number and stands for infinity. I think we first heard of 8 in conjunction with Olivia by Sam Weiss in 2.02 Night Of Desirable Objects. Her shoe size is 8. If you look at bldg numbers and Olivia is there, most likely you’ll find 8 (and also 22) or the sum will equal 8. There were 8 wheel chairs found in 3.16 Os and as I said earlier, Olivia knocked on the door 8 times and so forth.
Anyway back to the story. Someone has been there before them, destroying evidence and apparently some of the Hive is trying to kill Olivia. Fortunately Peter and Olivia were warned by Astrid who was with Sean as he describes the situation. Olivia and Peter make arrests.
But two other Hive members are on their way to kill the doctor.
They are planning on killing the doctor with the pillow.
And since we've been in 1.01 The Pilot a lot today, John Scott killed Richard Steig with a pillow as well.
I still haven’t figured out why John Scott killed all those people. He tried to kill Olivia too and then later denied it. 1.05 Power Hungry,
JOHN: “I didn't betray you. You know that. In your heart. You know I wasn't the one.”
The cops are on their way to the doctor’s room.
The cop on the left gets around a lot, it seems. He’s been “over there” as well. 3.01 Olivia
Of course the cops are too late. So they asked to “lock down the facility”.
Just like Charlie in 1.01 The Pilot: “We need this place locked down!”
Sean is in his room watching TV and the volume is way too loud.
Since I don’t look at other reviews or recaps I was wondering if anyone recognizes the movie.
SEAN KEENAN: “I can't hear them. When I couldn't hear them before, there was a feeling that they were... with me. Like when s -- you know someone's in the room, even if you can't see 'em.”
ASTRID: “Okay.”
SEAN KEENAN: “This is different. They're gone. There's nothing anymore. Just silence. Why?”
ASTRID: “I don't know. The truth is we may never know. But I can understand why silence would scare you. You're not used to being by yourself. But this is normal. It was so loud for you that you couldn't even hear yourself think. And I bet you have a lot of great thoughts.”
I think Sean can’t hear them anymore because the link between him and the rest of the Hive is gone. Dr. Owen was their father and since we’re talking about bees, something like the queen.
A few Observiews back I had made a list of the best last 5 minutes of an episode. Forget that list.
This is by far the best last 5 minutes of any episode so far. Jaw dropping, heart stopping, breath taking, head spinning and then some. Oh My Gosh!
I keep telling myself “if I don’t write about it, it didn’t happen”, right?
Let’s see if we can make heads or tails of it.
PETER: “You’re thinking that this job just can't get any weirder?”
OLIVIA: “Yeah. No. That's not what I was thinking. It's... it's just that now the case is over, we would go back to one of each other's houses. I know that that's what we would do. That was one of the things that we would do. I know that. So now, I don't know if I'm just supposed to ignore that, or what you want, and I guess I just – I -- Peter, how do you want to play this?”
PETER: “Olivia. I'm thinking about it. T's all I've been thinking about. And I'm afraid. I'm afraid because I've made this mistake before. I betrayed the Olivia that I love. But what I'm really afraid of is... when I look into your eyes, I know it's you. I know it's you.”
I don’t think that line needs any more explanation, lol!
Awwww!
I had to put that in there because it might not last long, as we later saw.
OLIVIA: “Just gotta, um... I just gotta go pee.”
I never thought Olivia would say something like this, sounds more like Walter. But as soon as she left the car, I thought “something is going to happen.” Gah!
Meanwhile at Massive Dynamic
Nina, Walter and Lincoln enter the vault after Nina scanned her hand.
I don’t know if it means anything but I thought it was interesting that she supported her left hand with her right.
It appears all the Cortexiphan is there. And I’m so glad Walter tested the vial.
Although one of these days he’s gonna get himself in trouble by drinking stuff (and sniffing) from vials with sometimes unknown contents.
It's potassium iodide with food coloring. Red #4. The Cortexiphan has been replaced.
If looks could kill, Nina would be dead!
Back to the gas station. Sure enough Peter can’t find Olivia. They just can’t catch a break.
She disappeared.
The next instant we find Olivia tied up in a room.
But she’s not by herself.
Nina? But?
Resuscitation anyone?
The title of this episode was “A Better Human Being”
The Greek phrase Olivia told Peter in 2.01 A New Day In The Old Town was “Be a better man than your father”.
I think that phrase took on a whole new meaning. Dr. Owen manipulated DNA so that his children would literally “be better than their father”.
He also said: “The hubris of trying to improve upon god.”
I had to look the word “hubris” up. This is the meaning of it: means extreme haughtiness, pride or arrogance. Hubris often indicates a loss of contact with reality and an overestimation of one's own competence or capabilities, especially when the person exhibiting it is in a position of power.
How often in Fringe has someone tried to enter God’s territory and succeeded?
Carla Warren told Walter in 2.15 Peter: “Some things are not ours to tamper with. Some things are God's.”
In 1.02 The Same Old Story Walter talked about a program to grow soldiers
In 2.07 Of Human Action they were working on cloning and mind control
In 3.16 Os a father wanted to fix his son who is in a wheel chair by testing on others
Just to name a few. But in all the results were less than desirable.
How far do we go – in the real world?
Now on to the end
As I said in the beginning I think someone has been replaced by a shapeshifter.
And I think it is Nina. At least that’s one of the theories I have. I’ll try to list them all and I hope I make sense.
I think there is only one Olivia. And I believe it’s ours. But I could be wrong.
Who took her? And why?
From the preview for next week, we know David Robert Jones has his hands in it.
Theory 1
The Nina we saw captured with Olivia is the real Nina. Nina at MD with Walter and Lincoln is Alt-Nina.
Theory 2
The Nina with Olivia is the real Nina and the one at MD is a shapeshifter. Even as a shapesifter, she would be able to access the vault. According to Peter in 4.05 Novation
PETER: “No, it's gonna make them impossible to find. The new, improved models do a lot more than just take on the appearance of another person. They replicate their victims down to the molecular level, including every last strand of DNA. They're the perfect infiltrators. By transforming their DNA, they can become anyone. They perfect this technology, and they can get close to us. They could replace any one of us. And short of performing surgery to find those memory disks, you would have absolutely no way of knowing.”
Theory 3
The Nina with Olivia is the shapeshifter and the one at MD is the real one.
If David Robert Jones has anything to do with this, he is willing to sacrifice his own – as he demonstrated in 4.09 Enemy Of My Enemy by killing one of the shapeshifters he cares about – to get information from Olivia.
And if the real Nina is at Massive Dynamic, she was either just busted or she really has no clue. Again the shapeshifter Nina could have just gone in and replaced the Cortexiphan.
If the real Nina is with Olivia, how long has she been there?
OTHER OBSERVATIONS
The storage facility was in Back Bay where the parking garage was in 4.11 Making Angels
The gas station had a greenish, yellowish tint to it.
And they sold “Slusho!” which is a drink J. J. Abrams created. And now available as Popsicle too.
Shout out to both Josh Jackson and Anna Torv for letting their faces speak.
Gah! Is it Friday yet? So cannot wait to find out what happens with Olivia and Nina.
Remember to watch live, if you can!
“In the end I have to believe in HOPE”
19 Comments:
The Tim that Walter is referring to in the episode is Timothy Leary.
He has mentioned Leary before - in "A New Day in The Old Town"
WALTER: Focus, please. This is an experiment that Belly and I did. We came up with such a spectacular blend of drugs. One day, Leary came by, and he said, "you're kidding me."
Interestingly, there is also a Leary's Camera Shop in "The Man From The Other Side".
One thing I noticed watching a second time was the cafeteria full of people wasn't real - that's just what Sean was hearing. That's why when they show it at the end, it is empty. Not because everyone left - because they weren't there.
Dennis, thanks for clearing that up about Tim. About the cafeteria, that is very interesting.
The "better human being" comparison with the "better man than your father" thing is very interesting indeed. Hadn't even occurred to me. Of course, the last person we heard utter the word hubris was Walter. And I think you've hit on some really key when you say, "How often in Fringe has someone tried to enter God’s territory and succeeded?"
I think that the only way to distinguish between shapeshifters and real people is emotion. I can't recall a time when a shapeshifter acted "human". Have you? So therefore, our Olivia is real, Nina tied up is real (whether its Blue Nina or Alt-Nina). MD Nina did not convince me she was worried about Olivia at all so I have a feeling she is a shapeshifter.. I think Alt-Broyles is too. He was a good man in the old timeline and I can't see how he would become bad in the new one if he had little interactions with Peter to cause an impact. Then again, these implications seem too obvious so I'm probably wrong. :)
fringelover said... I think that the only way to distinguish between shapeshifters and real people is emotion. I can't recall a time when a shapeshifter acted "human". Have you?
The shape shifter in the Fringe episode "Do Shapeshifters Dream Of Electric Sheep?" certainly had emotions. He grew to love the family of the officer he murdered, and was outraged when they were killed by Thomas Newton.
Here is the transcript from that episode.
And Ray Duffy was an old-mercury-style shapeshifter - the 2.0 shapeshifters are new and improved...
I think Ray Duffy showed emotion because he was imbedded with that family for five years. Also happened to Senator Van Horn. Sort of "pretending to be something for so long that you become it". Nadine was a 2.0 SS but she sucked at being human because she was coming off "fresh kills". If MD Nina is a SS could she be somehow conflicted as Duffy was? Guess that would depend on how long ago she was shifted.
I'm holding out hope that Alt-Broyles is still the "good man" we love, but that Jones has some hold over him. Perhaps his family.
I noticed the amount of green in this episode. I don't know if this has been discussed elsewhere, but in colors Blue + Yellow (amber) = Green. So...perhaps Green represents the Blue coming back over the Yellow (Amber). We can see this in Olivia. Yellow Olivia has awaken to her previous experiences as Blue Olivia. Now things are looking Green.
Thanks again for this good work, cortexifan. He puts some ways for us to "unleash" some issues of Fringe. On some issues in the cortexifan detailed work, and some interventions here, I have some opinions that lead, but others disagree, in general. For example, I think the shapeshifters 2.0, has emotions, the human kind, yes. I remember an episode of the first appearances of them, was one of these new shapeshifters, a lab and getting your bringing, he simply smiled in satisfaction. This somehow proves that they have emotions like human, yes. The only way to distinguish them from us, is through a clinical examination, appear where your multi-DNA because, in appearance, modes-of-being and emotions that they are very similar to us, I see.
I also do not think Olivia and Nina have their copies, as shapeshifters. But, following a theory that I personally have, I think Peter is involved, almost instantly, in two dimensions now adjunct, rather than parallel with temporal situations, oscillating. I know it seems a crazy idea, and is, yes. But, I see Peter, when he was in Walter's lab, talking to Olivia that he had never known before, and when he goes to visit her, it is Olivia who knows from Baghdad, who serves on the door! I also see a Nina at Massive, and "our" Olivia in the car with Peter. And other Olivia, and another Nina, trapped in a dark room, more or less there. It's confusing, I know, but I guess with that, with respect to this.
For me everything is very unstable in the universes of Fringe, and only Peter, that remains unchanged in the middle of this mess.
So many things to comment on!!
I was just watching Momentum deferred (2.04) and in it, shape shifter Charlie texts to Olivia "Nina is the shape shifter" so that he can get her out of massive dynamic.
Also, now that we are talking of a lot of colors, going back to season 1, you can see a lot of amber backgrounds, and now in season 4, especially the most recent episode, there are a lot of blue and green backgrounds... Does that mean anything? I’m not sure.
Then we have Nina: There must be a reason why in this timeline Nina took care of Olivia and Rachel after her mother died. That difference has NOTHING to do with Peter existing in this new timeline or not. Maybe this Nina has been plotting with David Robert Jones all along. If that is true, maybe the old timeline Nina was plotting with him and when he was killed by Peter, she conveniently abandoned those plans. I have never really trusted her to begin with. I think she took care of Olivia so that she could keep tabs on the strongest cortexiphan subject. After all, Water and even Bell have always said that she was the strongest.
With regards to Jones, my theory is this: What Jones is doing now, was always in his plans. In the old timeline, he met Olivia when she went to see him because of that case with Mitchell Loeb. But I always had the feeling he knew her from before. After all, he did all those drawings of her and kidnapped her to “test for cortexiphan”. And we never really found out why he was so insistent on Olivia passing the first test with the lights. He obviously was trying to “activate” her, but to what purpose? And then, when Olivia did disable that bomb at the end of "Ability", he said “That’s my girl”… What did he really mean by that? We did get some answers on ZFT, but there are still some unanswered questions about that organization.
I’m sure there is more, but I can’t remember at the moment…
All Honeybears I have ever seen have more corn syrup than actual honey... Walter should know that...
Great Review, a couple of things that I noticed that are making my theory lean more towards Nina at MD being Alt- Nina (as opposed to a shape shifter), and the kidnapped Nina being Amber Nina are that traditionally when a Shapeshifter has taken the form of a human host, in all reincarnations of SS1.0 and SS2.0 the host dies, we have yet to see a host survive this, unless DRJ somehow acquired Nina's DNA and grew this SS from scratch.
And the second thing was when Lincoln, Walter, and alleged Nina were at MD, the show made a point of showing that Nina was using her real hand for the biometric scanner as opposed to the Robotic one. Now in this Peterless timeline, he drowned in Reiden Lake, but the events prior to his drowning surely have been unaffected by his disappearance. To the point that early this Season Walter said "Nina I have resented you all this time for tripping me and making me break the vile when I crossed over" which entails that she did lose her arm when Walter crossed over. I'm not sure if I'm looking to much into this bc this is usually the point in the season where the creators throw us a huge curveball but i thought it deserved to be mentioned.
Olivia is back!...that was so exciting to watch, her transformation was beautiful, and I loved her "I like the feeling"...Me too!, excellent cast, production and crew...the media should be ashamed for not giving them the awards they deserve.
magueta
couldn't agree more :)
What would be really twisted is if Jones was actually Olivis's father. I have yet to see a picture or anything that shows her biological father. It would be something I would love the writers to answer.
Over all loved the recap of the episode. I too felt the voices were lost because the "queen bee" father died.
Woah.. so much activity! Ok, before I forget...
@ Dennis.. I guess I meant the new and improved ones don't seem to express much emotion. And if they gave a hint of it, they seem pretty good at pretending..
Ok.. gotta do something real quick. I'll read the other comments and probably come back with a 4pg one myself.
Brb!
velryn,
I've been teasing with my Fringe friend about that. Because in Ability he says "my girl". He could definitely be related.
Is it Friday yet?
What did walter do with Olivia's strand of hair?
Bulky,
he did a DNA analysis or toxic screening. That's when he discovered that Olivia had Cortexiphan in her system.
