We have completed the set of Fringe Benefits Project Artists, Dave Quiggle has kindly spent some time answering our questions about his poster for episode 2.06 - "Earthling".

Q - Mr. Jensen Karp is the mastermind behind Gallery 1988 and The Fringe Benefits Project. When did he contact you about participating in the series? How much advance notice/working time did you have? Especially as the episodes were voted for by the fans of the show.

A- It sort of happened mysteriously and out of the blue and with only the essential information given. Kind of secret agent style. There wasn't a ton of time and there wasn't a lot of instruction, but because it was Jensen asking me, I knew that it was going to be something cool.

Fringe Benefits Project Artist Interview Gary Pullin

The fifth in our series of Fringe Benefits Project Artist Interviews is with "Ghoulish" Gary Pullin who created the poster for Episode 1.13 - The Transformation.

Q - Mr. Jensen Karp is the mastermind behind Gallery 1988 and The Fringe Benefits Project. When did he contact you about participating in the series? How much advance notice/working time did you have? Especially as the episodes were voted for by the fans of the show.

A - Back in December I got an email from Jensen asking if I liked Fringe. I'll be honest, living the freelance life hasn't opened up a lot of time for TV so I had only seen a few episodes but thought it was an awesome show. In fact, a lot of it was filmed in an old church just steps away from my home here in Toronto. When he sent me the episode "The Transformation" how could I resist, it had a great monster and I knew I wanted in on the project.

Fringe Benefits Project Artist Interview - Anthony Petrie

The next in our series of Fringe Benefits Project artist interviews is with Anthony Petrie the creator of the first poster in the series for episode 2.18 White Tulip.

Q - If you had the chance to create another print in this series what moment would you have chosen?

I loved the creature from the episode "Unleashed," it would have been a lot of fun to draw.

Q - Were you restricted/instructed in anyway?

No, we were allowed to depict the episode however we felt was most appropriate.

A - Not much lead time, but coming from a comic book and production art background, I'm used to crazy deadlines.

Q - Mr. Jensen Karp is the mastermind behind Gallery 1988 and The Fringe Benefits Project. When did he contact you about participating in the series? How much advance notice/working time did you have? Especially as the episodes were voted for by the fans of the show.

A - I was actually given pretty short notice on this project, I had less than a week from when I was notified about the project to when the final art was due. Luckily that week my schedule allowed that type of turn around so I could crank the poster out no problem, but that time frame can be pretty tight for me.

I usually like around 2 weeks to complete a poster, but a portion of that time is set aside for research so having the subject matter chosen for me sped things up.

The very talented Joshua Budich has kindly responded to a request to answer a few questions about his involvement in the Fringe Benefits Art Project.

Q - Mr. Jensen Karp is the mastermind behind Gallery 1988 and The Fringe Benefits Project. When did he contact you about participating in the series? How much advance notice/working time did you have? Especially as the episodes were voted for by the fans of the show.

A - Jensen contacted me some time in November/December last year about any interest I had in paying homage to Fringe; which of course I jumped on being that it's one of my favorite shows. My piece was intended to be an overall, non-episodic homage, so I had quite a bit of time to get it done ahead of the opening of the website and voting.
