Fringe Benefits Project: "The Plateau" - Second Chance

      Email Post       2/01/2013 10:22:00 AM

Mark Englert (@markenglert) will have artist proofs of "The Plateau" available for sale this Saturday at TacoBelvedere.bigcartel.com, sometime between 10:00 am - 11:00 am PDT.

Englert posted on his website there will be 15 AP posters available for sale, priced at $150 - but it comes the extra bonus of "a sketch of your choice in the margin" by the artist!

The reason for the big markup is that Englert's studio was damaged in a flood, so he is going to use the  money to help cover what his insurance doesn't.

Sometime in the future, Englert will also be having a flood-specific fundraiser, where he will give away 5 additional "The Plateau" posters:
The remaining 5 posters will be randomly inserted into an upcoming sale of a poster I'll be making specifically to raise funds to cover losses as well. That will be a timed release, on sale for 24 hours so everyone who wants a print and a shot at a free Fringe poster can get one .
If you are interested, be sure to follow @markenglert on Twitter, and sign up for his mailing list at TacoBelvedere.com

Also, keep an eye on our twitter - @FringeTV - we'll let you know when they are available as soon as we hear anything.

Fringe Benefits Project: Wrap Up

      Email Post       1/11/2013 04:17:00 PM

The final posters for the Fringe Benefit Project were revealed on Wednesday night during the Fringe Benefit event at the Paley Center in Los Angeles. They were made available for sale during the event, and then the remainder we sold online beginning last night around 8:00pm EDT.

Three of the posters are still for sale on FringeBenefitsProject.com, but unfortunately, with the help of a little media coverage, word spread beyond our tight-knit Fringe community. The attention attracted some lowlife scalpers, who snapped up the last of the final "Fringe" posters, causing it to sell out in less than 30 minutes (which would have been even faster if the Galley 1988 server hadn't crashed...)

PLEASE DO NOT BUY THESE POSTERS ON EBAY!

These villains took away posters from actual Fringe fans, and are trying to make money off of a charity event. This bad behavior should not be rewarded!

Not to mention the fact that some posters being sold could be fakes!

However, the main reason not to buy these poster on eBay, is that there is a good chance the artists will be selling more of these posters themselves.

You may have seen that the posters were originally released in a "hand numbered edition of 150 (100 available)". The other 50 that were made are called Artist Proofs (AP), and some will be given back to the artists so they can sell them themselves.

Not only will you not have to pay a ridiculously marked up price, but you will be directly supporting the artist that created these posters.

For more information, visit each artists website, and sign up for their mailing list, or follow them on twitter - and who knows, you might find something else you like by these artists:

  1. "White Tulip" by Anthony Petrie (@zombiebacons) at AnthonyPetrie.com
  2. "The Plateau" by Mark Englert (@markenglert) at TacoBelvedere.com
  3. "Earthling" by Dave Quiggle (@davequiggle) at DaveQuiggle.com
  4. "The Transformation" by Gary Pullin (@GhoulishGary) at GhoulishGary.com
  5. "Dreamscape" by Graham Erwin (@GrahamErwin) at GrahamErwin.com
  6. "Fringe" by Joshua Budich (@JBudich) at JoshuaBudich.com

Fringe Benefit Project UPDATE: Last Two Posters

      Email Post       1/07/2013 03:22:00 PM

This Wednesday night, January 9th, the final two posters of the Fringe Benefits Project will be unveiled at sold-out Paley Center's "Fringe Benefits" event in Los Angeles.

The event will also feature a special exhibition of all the posters commemorating the series's most memorable moments, selected by Fringe fans worldwide and presented by Gallery1988.

While it is not likely that the first two prints will be available for sale at the event (since they are sold out online), it is entirely possible that the originals may be sold. Although, based on the prices at Gallery 1988's LOST Art Show, I would expect the originals to sell for $500 or more. At least the money goes to charity, as all profits from this project will be donated to The Mission Continues, an amazing charity that encourages and aids volunteerism by disabled and wounded veterans

The good news for those not attending (myself included), is that the prints should be available online soon after the event ends.

Any guesses as to what the last two posters will be?

I would like to see jalapeno-eating September and the beacon from "The Arrival", and/or see Peter get into the machine with all his flashbacks from "The Last Sam Weiss". What are your favorite Fringe moments?

Today's News: Our Take Exclusive: Fringe Season 4 Promo Poster Revealed!

Fringe: Where is Peter Bishop?

Right here, folks! In this exclusive first-look at Fringe's Season 4 promo poster, fans finally get proof that the producers won't be playing games with our hearts by keeping Josh Jackson's recently evaporated character out in the ether for too long. In fact, as you can see from this Escher-meets-action ad, our boy is clearly back and seems poised for action alongside Liv, Walter and a lot of expectations when the show returns on Sept. 23 at 9/8c on Fox.

"This season we have earned [the right] for Peter to be more self-actualized," says executive producer Jeff Pinkner. "He's a huge component and key to the really big stuff we're [doing]."

Phew! So now that we know that, who has a theory about the fallen cubes imagery? And how excited are you for "Fringe Fridays" to fire up in three weeks?

A behind-the-scenes look at the Fringe Season 2 "Photocast" publicity photo shoot.

It's interesting to see how some of the S2 promotional photos and S2 posters were shot. As suspected, the group shots were photoshopped together.
