Fringe: "September's Notebook" Now Available

      Email Post       3/14/2013 07:25:00 PM

The Fringe book "Fringe: September's Notebook - The Bishop Paradox" is now available for sale!

The hardcover book written by Tara Bennett and Paul Terry, is an authorized version the Observer September's notebook, and all his observations regarding the Bishop family and is currently available for order on Amazon for only $28.41 with free shipping!

The book starts off with a glyph code legend, which is helpful for translating various clues in the book.

The rest of the book is stylized like an actual notebook, with photos and articles faux-taped or faux-paper-clipped into the book, but there are also plenty of real notes and other items actually glued into the book.

Several of the sections contain "top secret" envelopes or folders, containing classified letters, posters, etc.

We'll have a full review coming soon!

For even more screenshots, check out our pre-order announcement.

Fringe: September's Notebook - The Bishop Paradox

      Email Post       1/16/2013 11:03:00 AM

A new book about Fringe is now available for pre-order, titled "Fringe: September's Notebook - The Bishop Paradox".

The hardcover book written by Tara Bennett and Paul Terry, is an authorized version the Observer September's notebook, and all his observations regarding the Bishop family.

From the press release:
Fringe: September's Notebook is an extension of the show and its mythology like no other. Within the book, every single word, sketch, photo, and official document has been painstakingly put together (under the guidance of series executive producer/showrunner J.H. Wyman and former executive producer Jeff Pinkner) with contributions from the Fringe production department. More than a year in the making from its inception, with material that spans all five seasons, authors Tara Bennett and Paul Terry (who together coauthored the official LOST Encyclopedia) worked with the television show’s production team on a daily basis to develop and evolve Fringe: September's Notebook into the world's first fully integrated licensed publication that has emerged from within the television series’ storyline itself.
The book will be available March 12, 2013 for the retail price of the book is $50, but it is currently available for pre-order on Amazon for only $31.50 - and with Amazon's price guarantee, if you pre-order and the price drops, you will automatically get the lower price!

Fringe Benefits Project: Wrap Up

      Email Post       1/11/2013 04:17:00 PM

The final posters for the Fringe Benefit Project were revealed on Wednesday night during the Fringe Benefit event at the Paley Center in Los Angeles. They were made available for sale during the event, and then the remainder we sold online beginning last night around 8:00pm EDT.

Three of the posters are still for sale on FringeBenefitsProject.com, but unfortunately, with the help of a little media coverage, word spread beyond our tight-knit Fringe community. The attention attracted some lowlife scalpers, who snapped up the last of the final "Fringe" posters, causing it to sell out in less than 30 minutes (which would have been even faster if the Galley 1988 server hadn't crashed...)

PLEASE DO NOT BUY THESE POSTERS ON EBAY!

These villains took away posters from actual Fringe fans, and are trying to make money off of a charity event. This bad behavior should not be rewarded!

Not to mention the fact that some posters being sold could be fakes!

However, the main reason not to buy these poster on eBay, is that there is a good chance the artists will be selling more of these posters themselves.

You may have seen that the posters were originally released in a "hand numbered edition of 150 (100 available)". The other 50 that were made are called Artist Proofs (AP), and some will be given back to the artists so they can sell them themselves.

Not only will you not have to pay a ridiculously marked up price, but you will be directly supporting the artist that created these posters.

For more information, visit each artists website, and sign up for their mailing list, or follow them on twitter - and who knows, you might find something else you like by these artists:

  1. "White Tulip" by Anthony Petrie (@zombiebacons) at AnthonyPetrie.com
  2. "The Plateau" by Mark Englert (@markenglert) at TacoBelvedere.com
  3. "Earthling" by Dave Quiggle (@davequiggle) at DaveQuiggle.com
  4. "The Transformation" by Gary Pullin (@GhoulishGary) at GhoulishGary.com
  5. "Dreamscape" by Graham Erwin (@GrahamErwin) at GrahamErwin.com
  6. "Fringe" by Joshua Budich (@JBudich) at JoshuaBudich.com

Fringe Benefit Project UPDATE: Last Two Posters

      Email Post       1/07/2013 03:22:00 PM

This Wednesday night, January 9th, the final two posters of the Fringe Benefits Project will be unveiled at sold-out Paley Center's "Fringe Benefits" event in Los Angeles.

The event will also feature a special exhibition of all the posters commemorating the series's most memorable moments, selected by Fringe fans worldwide and presented by Gallery1988.

While it is not likely that the first two prints will be available for sale at the event (since they are sold out online), it is entirely possible that the originals may be sold. Although, based on the prices at Gallery 1988's LOST Art Show, I would expect the originals to sell for $500 or more. At least the money goes to charity, as all profits from this project will be donated to The Mission Continues, an amazing charity that encourages and aids volunteerism by disabled and wounded veterans

The good news for those not attending (myself included), is that the prints should be available online soon after the event ends.

Any guesses as to what the last two posters will be?

I would like to see jalapeno-eating September and the beacon from "The Arrival", and/or see Peter get into the machine with all his flashbacks from "The Last Sam Weiss". What are your favorite Fringe moments?

Book Review of Kindle Discounted Fringe Science

      Email Post       9/13/2012 04:13:00 PM

Smart Pop Books has just released "Fringe Science: Parallel Universes, White Tulips, And Mad Scientists" on the Kindle for a very user friendly price of 99 cents!

You can buy it - HERE

Awhile back I reviewed the book and found it a very enjoyable and thought provoking read.

And now at less than a dollar this is a no brainer!

Note - It will be available at the discounted price only until September 23.

Taken from the Smart Pop website 'About' page:

'Smart Pop Books - On the best in Pop Culture Television, Books, And Film'

'Smart Pop books is a line of smart, fresh funny essays on the best of pop culture tv, books, and film, with particular focus on science fiction and fantasy television and literature.'

From the back cover of Smart Pop's Fringe Science book:

'Fringe has always been more than the sum of its parts-but its parts, too, are worth a closer look. The show combines a surfeit of mad science, some old school sci-fi flair, and a dash of strawberry-milkshake whimsy to create the challenging, fascinating Pattern that keeps us coming back season after season and universe after universe.'

Fringe Merchandise: "Science Without Limits" T-Shirt

      Email Post       9/06/2012 02:00:00 PM

T-shirt-of-the-day site TeeFury.com has a new Fringe themed t-shirt, titled "Science Without Limits", featuring Astrid, Walter, Olivia, Peter, Broyles, and the ubiquitous Observer.

Merchandise Monday - First People Calendar

      Email Post       8/20/2012 06:14:00 PM

"When you've been up all night, time is just a matter of semantics" - Sam Weiss S3E06

I'm fairly sure we have no 100% confirmed connection between Sam Weiss and the First People but a link seems highly likely, also the quote seemed to fit this mysterious method of telling the date.

Of course the fact that Seamus Wiles, who is a known author of a copy of "The First People", is an anagram of Samuel Weiss is probably just a coincidence !

The first people are introduced in the episode 6955Khz and The calendar appears right at the front of the book called "The First People". We have since discovered the book has been published in several languages and is firmly tied into the machine that Peter and Olivia used to fuse the Red and Blue univereses together.

In fact the numbers broadcast on the 6955Khz frequency, that were used to find parts of the machine, match the numbers around the calendar.

This t-shirt is actually something I myself created and uploaded to CafePress, I first recreated the calendar because I wanted to add it to the FringePedia article on The First People, but realised it would be pretty effective on a t-shirt as well.

When I originally created it there were only a couple of screenshots available to use as a guide and I had to make a few assumptions, but now I've seen more views of the calendar I have found those original assumptions were correct.

On Cafepress there is also a version of this t-shirt with the Sam Weiss quote which was the only version available until recently.

I also have a version up for voting on the limited edition daily t-shirt site Qwertee. If you don't want to buy a t-shirt at the moment then any help in getting more votes for this t-shirt would be appreciated.

We are looking for more submissions for Merchandise Monday so if you have something you want to share then let us know.

Fringe Merchandise Monday

      Email Post       8/13/2012 01:01:00 PM

It may seem strange that a new Fringe feature has a picture of a LOST Apollo bar based design, but there is a Fringe link, other than JJ Abrams, and I will explain further in a moment.

First welcome to Fringe Television's Merchandise Monday, the idea is this will be an opportunity to highlight your fan made creations and if they are for sale let everyone else out there know where to get hold of them.

Some examples of what we are after - if you have a Fringe based t-shirt for sale or even just up for voting on a daily t-shirt site, if you sell a replica item of clothing from the show, if you make your own Fringe based Jewellery, if you have created posters or have anything else wierd and wonderful that is Fringe related then let us know.

We can't promise to feature everything but we will try and feature at least one item per week until the final episode has aired.

That is assuming you lovely people out there have something to share, this will only work if you send us some information :-) We need as much detail as possible about your item, if it relates to a specific episode then let us know which one (saves us some research work).

Send information about your items to - editor (at) fringetelevision . com

So now to the reason for the Apollo Bar and Grill design above, a couple of big LOST fans, Jared (@AgentBacardi) and Jo Garfein (@Jopinionated, have set up a charity event and auction called "Cancer Gets LOST" in aid of the National Brain Tumor Society.

The event involves a live webcast (August 25th) and an online auction of lots of LOST and other items, now this is where the Fringe link comes in as a couple of the items in the auction are Fringe items and they are signed by Jasika Nicole.

So finally the reason for the t-shirt, this is merchandise monday and this is my own design, it will be on sale at TeeBusters.com starting on Friday 17th of August for 48 hours. All of my commission from TeeBusters for the sale will go to support the Cancer Gets Lost charity event.

Please spread the details about Cancer Gets LOST, and please send in details of any items you want featuring on Merchandise monday in the coming weeks.

Namaste

Fringe Season 4 Premier Press Kit

      Email Post       9/23/2011 11:38:00 AM

Yesterday I received the Fringe press kit for the Fringe Season 4 premier. Inside the envelope was a letter from Peter Bishop, a "Save Peter" t-shirt, and a DVD with the first two episodes of Fringe Season 4.

I watched both episodes last night, and they are excellent! Episode #401"Neither Here Nor There" really sets up the new season, and episode #402 "One Night in October" is a great "mythalone" that gives a hint to how the rest of the season will play out.

The letter from Peter Bishop introduces the episodes, and gives some assurance that the question "Where Is Peter Bishop?" will be answered soon.

You can read the entire letter after the break.
