At the end of the Fringe episode "Transilience Thought Unifier Model-11", Walter finds and plays a CD to help himself "shift perspective, to see things differently."

The song that is played is "Only You" by the '80s band Yaz (née Yazoo).

Composer Chris Tilton Adding Music To Fringe Fridays

Gifted composer, Chris Tilton, who composes all of the music for the Fringe series, posted this on his Facebook page on December 02:

So there may be no more Fringe for 2011, but there will be music! Starting today I'm going to upload one cue every Friday for the rest of the year! The cues will be from ep. 408 the Spring Premiere (which was previously supposed to be the fall finale) and ep. 409. Titles will be kept secret to avoid hints and/or spoilers.

Fringe 'Song Of The Week' Starts Today

Fringe media master, and friend to Fringe fans, Ari Margolis, just Tweeted (@jonxproductions) that he is starting a Fringe "Song Of the Week"(SOTW) feature today.

Every Friday, Ari will post a new SOTW and the YouTube link to it on his Twitter account.

Previously, from mid-May until the Season 4 premiere date of September 23rd, Ari posted a Fringe "Song Of The Day" link, often using fan suggestions, and at least 2 from cast member, Jasika Nicole.

And speaking of Jasika Nicole, she is now officially on Twitter as of yesterday! You can follow and tweet her at @JasikaNicole!

I've posted before here at Fringe Television how lucky we are that Fringe Media Master, Ari Margolis, is also a great friend to Fringe fans.

Ari started posting a Fringe Song Of The Day(SOTD)on his Twitter account in May and he kept it up the entire summer, which made the summer hiatus that much more fun, and feel a bit shorter.

EW Exclusive: Fringe Music Video

Entertainment Weekly has an exclusive first look at a new Fringe music video, featuring music from English alternative rock band Klaxons. According to Jeff Jensen:

Fox has taken the group’s 2010 single “Echoes” and created a Fringe music video that recaps the season’s Two Olivias parallel world storyline and functions as a ‘shipper ode to the developing Olivia/Peter romance

Does the video contain hidden clues about upcoming episodes? I’ve viewed it twice, and I’m inclined to say “Nope”, but your Encyclopedia Brown eyes may yield different results. [Klaxons are] a band whose musical style has been described as “acid rave sci-fi punk funk,” that gives their albums names that could double as titles of Fringe episodes (Myths of the Near Future; Surfing The Void) and is prone to referencing William Burroughs andThomas Pynchon in their songs.

By day, Lance Reddick is the Fringe Division leader Phillip Broyles, but by night, he is a jazz musician. We got a taste of his musical ability in the Fringe episode Brown Betty, but now Reddick has just released his first album "Contemplations and Remembrances".

Pearl Jam's Mike McCready Creates Fringe Score

Tonight's episode "Northwest Passage" was scored by Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready. Originally, the plan was to use the Pearl Jam song "Just Breathe", but according to Rolling Stone Magazine:

After some back and forth they wound up with something even better: guitarist Mike McCready offered to compose the score for the entire episode.  

 This is the first television score for McCready:

 "It's a completely different kind of songwriting than what I'm used to," he says. "Chris Chilton, who writes the music, gave me some ideas and I transcribed them on guitar. They told me they wanted some sort of Northwest, dark-type feelings. It's a very dark show, so I played a darker kind of guitar tone and even stuff that doesn't sound like guitar, and a little bit of piano." 

Fringe: The Beginning Of The End (of Season 2)

Blair Brown (Nina Sharp), Jaskia Nicole (Astrid Farnsworth), John Noble (Dr. Walter Bishop, and Akiva Goldsman (writer/director) speak about the excitement and suspense of the story line, and where the rest of the season is headed.
