whether or not they intended for this show to be aired on Good Friday (holiday observed by Christians as the day God sacrificed his son to save humanity), the timing and message were absolutely astounding! I previously had wondered if Walter acknowledged that God had answered his prayer, or if he still held to science that the white tulip was just a random, highly unlikely event. Great episode! Hoping that Henry's middle name is Lee. Still worried that the plot could go the way of "His Dark Materials" books: once the portals between worlds have been sealed, the lovers can no longer travel to be with one another and Peter's going to end up in his original place.
This really felt like part 1 of a 3 part episode (which it basically is), so it's hard to fully evaluate it right now until I see the other 2 parts. I gave it a 4 but I'll probably think it's a 5 after the season is over.
Amy, I hadn't even thought of the "His Dark Materials" parallel. I hope it isn't true! Peter and Olivia belong together.
Loved it!!! 5 stars!
Love Fringe!
Not only that, Amy, but consider that it's Passover Week as well with its Ten Plagues.
I still think that offically announcing the renewal of the show on Houdini's birthday was more than coincidence...
The fastest half hour on TV....or so it seems.
I was shocked when the episode ended because I felt like it hadn't even been on for a few minutes yet.
@Amy I really liked your Good Friday catch. Not being really religious I didn't notice it, but I did notice that the speech Walter gives in prayer about being willing to sacrifice his son to save our world... That seemed like it had a real "Peter Christ" message to it which I liked.
