UPDATE: Fringepedia has a more complete list of Glyph Codes here.
Click here to read the solution
Each set of glyphs translate into a word, which relates to the theme of the episode:
101: OBSERVER
102: CHILD
103: AEGER [? -- AETHER would make more sense for the episode]
104: ROGUE
105: SURGG [should be SURGE?]
106: CELLS
107: CODES
108: TAKEN
109: VOICE
110: TRADE
111: SAVED
112: BISHOP
113: AVIAN
114: OLIVIA

That's just amazing!!!! I've been wondering what the heck it all meant for ages...
He should be getting a prize for that one!
(BTW, amazing blog this one, I come here about twice a day)
OMG Wow...good job!
wow, i always knew they would end up spelling something- but i thought they all were lyk a greek letter or symbol- didnt think it be so "simple", even though its pretty complicated- im gonna find out what tonites spells out while watching
I always suspected it was something they had mentioned like Astrid's ceasar shift, but i had absolutely no idea how to go about figuring it out. Most impressive!
Sanchez for President!
u must be missing one, cause the first commercial there was a 6 fingered LEFT hand, palm facing out (thumb on the left), and it was perfectly vertical, with dot on the right
W is a 6-fingered hand with a the glowing ball of light on the right of it. Tonight's episode glyph decryptiong results in WALTER.
k thx, thats what i thought, im assuming next episode will have the tail with the phib. sequence on it as theres a teradactly in it
Yeah, i had no idea what they were for, but i thought that they were...peculiar.
I've always wondered if the letters spelling out the names of the cities on J.J.'s "Alias" used the same kind of code. Did anyone ever figure out if that happened?
But why Walter in 115? He didn't appear to be the theme. Are they just spelling out the character names for lack of something better now? In fact, Walter seemed to have less of a role in 115 than in most episodes. Unless it's a hint that he has some sort of connection to the Observers. I mean, other than that he owed one a favor someday for saving him and his son.
In Latin, Aeger means:
1. sick, ill
2. (figuratively) difficult, reluctant, troublesome
3. (figuratively) anxious, troubled, sad
Also, In Norse Mythology, Aeger, spelled Ægir, is a giant and a king of the sea in Norse mythology .
I'm not sure they link to each episode. I mean "observer" for episode 1 doesn't seem right. But I'm sure that when the season is over, we can form a sentence using those words that will probably give us a new clue.
Wow, thanks for cracking the code .... I am starting to think that if we collect code words for all 22 episodes, we might be able to come up with a sentence that will point us towards the great myth behind FRINGE ....
I really like this kind of stuff! Another interesting show was Jericho, that had hidden(?) messages using Morse code at the show's opening. Check it out!
Episode 116 (i believe its 116) unleashed = PETER
I wanted to use the solution as my wallpaper, so I made some assumptions about the missing letters and threw a couple together. Here's a couple links if anyone else is interested.
4:3 Wallpaper
http://stashbox.org/488960/FringeGlyphStd.jpg16:9 Wallpaper (same as the 4:3 but with the plaintext words from each episode on the sides)
http://stashbox.org/488962/FringeGlyphWide.jpgI'll finish filling in the words as the season finishes, so if you'd like the updated versions, let me know.
bah, my formatting sucks. linebreaks after the links. additionally, these are not small (1920x1080 and 1440x1080)
NEW LETTER THIS EPISODE!! THE SMOKE FACING LEFT, dot on the bottom left (i think thats were it was)
My guess is that the new letter is a W.
Like Bell, W
But that's just a guess. Because last time we thought that the word was WALTER but spelled as UALTER.
So, I was left to believe that it was a word. Like U Alter. *shrug*
Ooh, I take that back! I think it's a Y.
Belly! Walter's nickname for William Bell.
What about “Inner Child”? There was a hand with six fingers similar to to letter “V” but flipped to where the pinky was on the right.
but what about the images inside the images? Like the fetus in the apple and the bird on the flower?
Has anyone solved what is in the opening credits yet?! I've looked every where, and I don't have the technology to grab screencaps of the glyphs...
There's no code in the opening credits. I wrote a post about it here: http://eastereggs.fringetelevision.com/2009/04/fringe-easter-eggs-glyphs-in-title.html
I have been waiting a LONG time for a show this good to come on... Since the X-Files.. Thank God its finally here.
4 symbols just flashed by in a couple seconds of the season finale commercial during House. My DVR is clunky and I didn't catch where the dots were but it was the hand with the fingers to the left, a leaf, a big apple, a smaller apple.
The newest is VISION
In ep 113 there is clearly a monarch (i forgot if it is the "o" or "p" monarch but in either case, there is not o or p in the title for ep 113 as it is listed as avian. it should be AVION
I got the same solutions except for CHILD (second episode); my solution is BRELD, which I don't think is a word. I guess I didn't get it right.
Congrats!
I believe there were some mistakes in the original airings, and that they have been corrected on the DVDs
New glyph in the Season 2 premiere, hand with the dot on the right, W, word is TOWER.
New glyph tonight. Horizonally flipped "N" glyph is "M" (unsurprisingly).
Tonight's word (9.24.09): MIRROR
the W is a mirror-image of V, the X will be a horn with the dot on the left, the Y will be a mirror-image of T and the Z will be a mirror-image of X - a horn with the dot on the right.
NO one has said anything about the symbols inside the pictures. Like the 2 fetuses in the apple the gree letter phi on the frog, the equalateral triangle or pyramid on the leaf. What are these? You are all wrapped up in the pictures you are missing the smaller pieces.
So one of the codes was reveled and it related to the episode!!!! I finished watching and I was so happy I had time to spell out words during commercial breaks.
I was going to ask the same thing anonymous October 20th, the symbols hidden in plain sight, only seeing it for a split second, the whole thing seems like there's some sort of subliminal message tring to be put across, or it's just a good marketing idea.
Lozzy
i like fringe so much & i want to tell I was surprised when i saw fringe season 4
Unless im missing something there may yet be another glyph and therefore character. For example on the dvd menu screen there is a leaf similar to b however the leaf curvature goes up and to the left what is it. I am trying to decipher but just noticed
I selected the decoded messages from the episode numbers that correspond to the Fibonacci sequence; 1,2,3,5,8... (which relates to phi). There are messages in the sequence taken forwards and backwards.
Season 1: Observer Child, Aeger Surgg, Taken Avian
