Fringe Teaser: "Wallflower"
November 14th, 2011 1:57 PM
 by Matt Richenthal

Fringe needs your help, fans. The series dropped to an all-time low in viewers last week, leaving little doubt that this will be the final season for Peter, Olivia, Walter and company.

The best thing you can do to avoid this fate for the series? Tune in. Tell your friends to tune in. And your family. And, heck, even your enemies. The drama needs all the help it can get.

Below, we've posted the official FOX trailer for Friday's "Wallflower." It will find the team connecting a mysterious death with a genetic disorder; and it will feature a major migraine problem for Olivia...

See Matt's entire TV Fanatic article here.
And please, take his advice and tell everyone to watch "Wallflower" LIVE this Fringe Friday!

Begging people to watch hasn't helped up to now why beat a dead horse/
It's sad that people have other things to do on Friday nights but if they don't want to use DVR and on-line as the determining of how popular a show is then there is nothing the fans can do. I don't want it to leave either but something is going on we must not understand. Is it Friday nights? Is it the stories? Is it the time of the year? Why people stop watching is a question every show asks when it tumbles to the bottom. I don't have the answer.

I'm a fringe fan, big time! But I do not live in the U.S., so there's very little I can do to help the show. Except come here, and other Fringe forums and express my love and interest for the show, that in my opinion is one of the best on TV right know!

I think something the fans can do too, is vote for the show on the People's Choice award for Fringe in teh category Sci-Fi/Fantasy Show.

A show that wins the People's Choice Award has less chance of being cancelled right?!

And that is something you can do from any country!
Here's the link to vote!

I don't know if this will really work, but it's worth the shot right?! I really want to save Fringe!

I'm also a huge fringe fun!but I also don't live in the US. and love the show so much and FRINGE is IMO the best scifi show on TV now! there must be the possibility for the writers to tell the whole story as they suggested within 6 seasons!!!or at least the 5th season so we could have an amazing ending!THE SHOW deserves that!what can I do to support?!

It appears that north-american people don't like "smart series".. Im'm sorry for the sincerity...

I'm from Canada and here they bought the show et transliterated (sorry for my english) in french... and it's SO POPULAR... maybe they need to check the intire Tv ratings in each country before to stop the show.... Go FRINGE!

I'm from Germany and there are also a lot of Fringe fans here!I can't simply understand why US people don't watch a show full of beautiful emotions which makes you think about things combined with scifi staff but not such as awfull aliens or vampires -they deal with time travel, alternate universes, timelines Fringe must go on!european fans want and love Peter Olivia and Walter stories, which are unpredicable and the answers lead always to more questions!!!

Can't belive it! Fringe is the most interesting show ever. Save Fringe, please!!!!

Now I see what's going on. After reading the posts, I believe the majority of Fringephiles are not from the US. I guess all of Europe and Canada and South America could tune in regularly, but their viewership doesn't count, because they don't have little black Nielsen boxes (and neither do 99.99% of Americans). Also, moving the show to Fridays was a strategic move to cancel the show early...and it's working, unfortunately. I only hope Pinkner and Wyman tie up all the loose ends by May.

I really love this show, and would be really upset if it were canceled. I'm from Brazil, and Fringe is well accepted here. The audience in other countries should count those hours! I hope that Fringe overcomes this and give us one more season!

I have tried so hard to get people watching! They choose instead to watch crappy reality shows like dancing with the..., the amazing... and American... It's driving me crazy! A great show like this canceled because people would rather watch crap! But I will keep trying!

Unknown said...

I have a question - does watching from other countries, like Canada for my case, have any influence on these ratings? I really love that show and wish to show as much support as possible...

What i find so mind boggling is that at show 6 we are talking like the decision has been made and the show is officially cancelled. to my knowledge this has not yet happened and there are 22 shows slotted for this season.I have great faith in the show runners.I have great faith in the fact people don't ignore a world wide want for a show.Did anyone see the "wheres Peter Bishop" montage? Does anyone think fox didn't see that or understand what it took to do that and it was done out of fan love and not a campaign to save the show. There is no need for Europe to bash America or America to bash Europe we all love fringe. This time of year is slow with the holidays coming thats why the bulk of the season is next year when we all have the time to watch it so i say lets wait and while your waiting go and vote at the peoples choice awards that is something you CAN do right now!

Fellow Fringies, the show is in danger and we have plenty of time to save it. Please keep watching live. And if you've the slightest doubt that you're not being counted in the Nielsen ratings, than tweet about the commercials you saw with a #Fringe hash tag on Twitter. Make a buzz. I'm already doing so, thanks to FringeTV's efforts to put all the commercials in a video from Novation onwards. C'mon guys, lets bring Fringe back from the fringe of getting cancelled.

Some comments.
Anyone in the us knows that if you are trying to cancel a show you play it on friday nights - FOX is trying to kill the show
2nd- FOX what do you expect on your ratings? after two weeks without playing the show and leaving fans to guess the return is to ask a little too much- I can't believe you are suprised by lowest rating of the season
3rd- Fox you are really trying to kill the show by already having a mid-season finale? What the Heck, stop and hope we are back who knows when?
If fox really want an audience it would use a better marketting strategy than asking fans to watch on a friday night. GO BACK to Tuesday. Don't cancel for one, two or more weeks because of sports Sci-fi fans are not jocks. Be smart about your campains.

I couldn't agree more with FringeFan!!!

There's still a whole season ahead of us, and plenty of time to save the show. And we can help. Do what you think you can do, from wherever you're at. Tweet about the commercials, comment the videos and posts on the Fringe page on facebook (the american one too, not just the one from your country), vote on the people's choice award (I believe if the show won, this would make BIG difference. And if think of anything else, do that too!

And I believe the the ideas exchanged here also might make a difference, because I don't think producers e TV networks would ignore such an important fan page. That would be a wrong move.

Once again, i'm putting up the link for the PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARD here: link

Let's campaign for Fringe on the award??

LC_07 said...

And I don't think that moving the show to Friday was a death sentence. If anything, it might have saved the show, because the ratings expectations for Thursdays are much higher, so the show being on Fridays may have helped us getting another season.

I do believe that the really long breaks are something very difficult to retain an audience faithful to a show, if you are a die hard fan, you may give up on it. I understand that sports are big money makers, but the strategies should be different to have both (the shows and the games), without one jeopardizing the other.
Even if they aired it later that night, people might still DVR it, and watch later, not giving us the lack of continuity that we've been feeling this season.

LC_07 said...

*I meant, if you are NOT a die hard fan on the comment above ok?!

Somethinf else on mu mind.
Most of all, attacking each other at this time can do no good. This is the time to team up our efforts to help keep something we all love (that's why we're all here right? No matter where we're from). I'm from Brazil, and I don't hate americans because of the low ratings. It's circumstantial, and we can try to help each other.

I'm a huge Fringe fan, I'm french and I wish that this fantastic show won't be canceled, I hope that the people who decide for cancelation take under account all the viewers and fans opinion over the world (or if they prefer all the DVD and Blue ray future buyers) before they make their decision. This situation pops the question : why don't they plan a worlwide broadcasting for shows that deserve it, in order for them to survive, we are all here, now, all as one the Fringe fans from over the World, longue vie à Fringe... The problem 1. is the Friday Move We all said that last season. 2. Fringe lost its core base. If you look Season 1 And season 2 Are the best story lines.

That all they need to do move it to monday or sunday time slot. And get back to what made fringe story lines good.

I never watched live until this year, I bought a TV just to watch it live.

I just hope that if this is the last season, that they tie up the loose ends.

if not,I can always be at peace with the incredible episodes presented so far.

I have not been a fan of any television show since X-files stopped.... Nope never jumped the "Lost" train, never did like "Dexter". But then Fringe came along. This show is amazing i can't even believe this news. I just can't believe it. How can something so good "fail"? I'm going to miss the characters and the whole universe so much. I really hope for the best next shownight.

I fear that Fringe will be one of those situations where its fame doesn't come until after it is gone. This show has the best storytellers, directors and cast that I have seen on tv...it is on a whole different level than its peers. But it takes awhile for people to buy into the story, so the audience for Fringe will always build slower than mindless shows that ask little effort of their viewers.

I think that one of the biggest hurdles for Fringe is not having past seasons available online. If past seasons were easily accessible, I think it would be easier to get people hooked on the story and build a bigger fan base. After all, we all know how addictive the story is...which is why we are all here.

I am a Fringe follower. I loved Agent Dunham. She was one of the best female role models on TV. This season she is no longer the smart, tough, independent thinker we've all come to love. She's now has a mamby pamby personality. This is a sure way to kill the show, at least from this female's point of view.
Also, if you haven't noticed the actual minutes of the show are shortened by all the commercials. And here I thought that FOX was a "fringe" company who was offering an innovative concept of limited advertising on at least one of their shows. With each passing season the ads are taking more and more time from the show. I may not watch just because they abuse us with all that unwanted propaganda.
If they cancel it , I hope SciFi or another picks it up!!

Here in Australia Fringe is the number 1 most watched show on the 'GO' network!! FOX should look at the amount of viewers in all countries where it is screened, not just the US.

Totally agree with the last comment, here in england the show is loved and the die hard fans who dont have sky tv do what ever they can to watch it. I end up having fringe nights where 5 or 6 people come to my house just to watch the show! It would help the fringe cause tho if it didnt stop start all the time, i mean got really into it then it went on a break for the so called world series (correct me if im wrong but surely to be a world series it should have countries from around the world in it?) then it just gets going again and is stopping for the festive period. other shows go the whole series in one blast. Fringe is one of the best sifi shows out there, it cannot end. x-files went on forever and fringe is twice the show.

Please take not fox of the world wide comments, just from reading all these comments you can see how big the show is outside america!

Another thing though The Scream Awards aren't as popular as People's Choice it did win Best Television Show this year & at the Saturn Awards Anna Torv won Best Actress in Television & John Noble won Best Supporting Actor in Television. Last year Fringe won the People's Choice for Best Sci-Fi/Fantasy they're practically the same shows. Only difference Vampire Diaries have been replaced with The Walking Dead.
I think they're still hope- just keep voting wherever you are!
