David Robert Jones comes back... you can see him in the trailer for next episode...
That was the first thing I thought at the beginning of this season. David has to still be alive because Peter wasn't there to turn the portal off and slice him in half. I too am psyched for January. Furious with Baseball right now making us miss our fall final.
David, as in David Robert Jones!!!! He was one heck of a villain. Can't wait for his return. The best so far. 2nd is Thomas Jerome Newton & Secretary Bishop comes 3rd.
Seeing the ending of Wallflower, I'm getting a feeling the Observers just wiped the memories of everyone (about Peter and whatever they don't remember from previous 3 seasons) using the serum+gas combo Nina used on Olivia (Nina is probably in league with the Observers), and making Peter appear in the lake (they wouldn't do that to Peter, which would explain him remembering everything).
And if the current universe is not the original BlueVerse or a rewritten version of it without Peter, how come we haven't seen any differences between the two till now. Because we all know the butterfly effect carries much weight in Fringe.
Although that does leave the question of David Robert Jones still being alive, but he could be the alternate version from the RedVerse. However, this contradicts the conversation between September and December from Neither Here Nor There, & does not agree with Peter's blue-ball-of-energy state previously. And the memory wipe thing does sound a little absurd, considering all the different memories that would need to be wiped, but hey, we're talking about Fringe here.

Well, FringeFan, the glyphs do say "still living david", so it would give the impression that is the same one we've seen before, right?! Because if he is "still" alive...I don't know. Fringe is so intriguing!
Well it makes sense that David Robert Jones would still be alive since Peter was directly responsible for his death in the episode Theres More Than One of Everything when Peter closed the portal. And since Peter was erased from existence people that he killed would not be dead.

Exactly. At the same time, what is he coming here do to this time? He was here before to make sure Olivia got in touch with her abilitites, amongst other things, right?
This is a different Olivia, will her powers be the same?
I wonder if Jones killed Bell in this timeline. It said that Bell was dead, but he couldn't have died the same way because Olivia and Walter never crossed over to save Peter. And Peter did not close the portal, so Jones could have killed Bell.

A Bell-Jones antagonism could explain why Bell shut down Truss's research on cell regen in "Novation", and why it was clandestinely revived (by Jones?). I wonder which side of the antagonism Nina would be on.
