Origins of the Observers was very disappointing. Typical lazy storytelling. Probably Peter/Olivia descendants because of two different universes. I think they have lost there way and can't find their way back just like they did on "LOST". Poor guys just don't learn from their mistakes.

Matthew M,

Here is an interesting article you should read:

"Focusing on an uncertain, albeit exciting, future can negatively affect the equally unknown, but much more palpable, present.
...
Audience members are too busy trying to solve the show and being disappointed when reality doesn’t line up with theory."

I think that when there is some response in Fringe, accept it or not is a matter strictly of a personal nature, each one of us. The definition or the origin of the Observers, reported that last episode, I, for my part, I felt very good, well-suited to the plot so far presented in Fringe. By placing the Observers as our descendants in a distant future, the writers answer me, in part, my main questions about "what are they?" "Of where they come from?" ... But, of course, that did not answer (for me): "what they actually do here?". So I repeat, it's all a matter of interpretation and expectations, we have individually with respect to these responses, I see.

To each his own. I like the Observer explanation because it felt honest and fit in with what the series had shown us to date.

The only thing I would have liked to have seen is this reveal happen last season.

I just wanted to drop by and say that I'm a recent fan of Fringe and I really enjoy your podcasts. Thank you for putting so much thought into watching and analyzing the show and sharing your thoughts with us. It's definitely given me more food for thought :)
