An Observer makes contact with the Fringe Team to help rectify a mistake. Meanwhile, Walter befriends Roscoe Joyce (guest star Lloyd), keyboardist for Walter's favorite 1970s band, “Violet Sedan Chair.” Walter will learn the real reason the band broke up, and realize that the lives of these two men, who have never met before, overlap in strange and unexpected ways.

loved the show tonight but can you help me with the name of the song from the first minute of the show and where it is from thanks
It was the Mahnahmahnah song from the Muppet Show.
Can someone tell me the name of the song where Rusko sings at piano ? It is when Walter tryes to find what Bobby said to Rusko.
Any idea who covered "If I Only Had a Brain?" It was playing in the closing moments ofthe episode as Walter made soup for Peter.
I believe it's Jeremy Little's version of the song that was playing at the closing moments of the episode.
Good singing!
Really nice episode, because it pushes the story arc forward. Unfortunately into a frightening direction. It becomes quite obvious that the observers (which are finally back) do a lot more than only watch certain key events happening. Actually they have some kind of hidden agenda to assure that a specific future will happen. And I am getting the idea that in this future Walter is supposed to let go of Peter.
The current season of fringe might be the final one, where all the loose ends are tied up. While this is a very sad thought because I like the show very much, the upcoming episodes will probably answer many open questions regarding the observers, the doomsday machine etc - which is basically a good thing, I guess.
i hope this isnt the last season!!! :(
I wouldn't pack up the show just yet! In looking for something on this site a few days ago I discovered that we didn't get a confirmation that there would be a Season 3 until May 4th, 2010.
Great episode!
Nods to Back To The Future (Doc Brown), Terence McKenna (via Twin Peaks and Doctor Jacoby's specs), and The Wizard of Oz (If I Only Had A Brain).
Time travel, psychedelics, and psychedelic time travel! Who could ask for more?
Has 'Violet Sedan Chair' been discussed as possible anagram? I came up with 'Olivia's the Dancer" maybe some reference to episode Marionette? No idea what the metaphor is, maybe too much crossing between worlds has posed question of just how much of herself she's 'bringing back' each time? Ref to the girl at end of Marionette resurrecting but not as herself.
can anybody tell me the name of the song(melody) which Rusko plays on the piano at min.15,15.
The song that rusko plays on the piano was the beginning of Kissing you by Des'ree
