Have the cases from season one had a parallel with the apocalyptic imagery/prophecies of the Book of Revelation? The new female agent was looking through old cases while flipping through her Bible. I remember her typing "R20" and next to it "The Beast." Revelation chapter 20 speaks about the Beast being tormented in a lake of fire. The pic on the screen was of the monster in the airplane (the one with porcupine needles). We know how much J.J. has used Genesis with Lost. Maybe Lost is about the beginning and Fringe is about the end??

I noticed they changed some of the words in the opening sequence. Some new ones I saw are "Hive Mind" and "Parallel Universe".

The Observer is back. He walks from right to left at the bottom of the screen in the car accident scene in the beginning. 00:56 - 00:58

that's very interesting about the beginning and end!

First thing that I noticed was a heck of a lot more commercial time this ep. I guess that they are back to the normal ad-filled programming this season? Oh well.

In the loft of the second stolen body guy in NY, was that an X-Files episode on his TV? It looked like Mulder looking up into the sky...perhaps the one where he and Scully find the old warehouse full of files, she sees the grays inside at the end of the hall, and Mulder sees the ship pass over the building outside? Or it could be the one where he's at the airbase and sees one fly over when Scully isn't there. Sorry if this was mentinoed in the live chat, I wasn't there last night. Tx.

I really liked Charlie's role, it is a shame that it will change.

When the 'shifter' changes he keeps his clothing. Only the body changes. So if he was the nurse and he morphed, how could the nurse be laying dead on the floor? There must be two 'shifters'.

Holy Bible in Fringe, like LOST

KINGDOM AGAINTS KINGDOM LK21:10
THE BOOK OF LUKE.

"Luke 21:10 Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:

Luke 21:11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.

Luke 21:12 But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake."

6574-FD- A DOOR SYANDS OPEN.
REVELATIONS 4:1
"Revelation 4:1 After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter."

2548-FD- EAT THE FLESH
REVELATIONS 19:18
"Revelation 19:18 That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great."

7546-FD- THE BEAST
REVELATIONS 19:20
"Revelation 19:20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone."

REALLY REALLY WEIRD!!
WHY THE BIBLE?

zak - your observer timings aren't right. At least not on the hulu version. Can you describe what is happening in the scene or watch it on hulu and tell us the times from that?

Totally missed the Observer.

Still eager for the easter egg hunt though.

As the Observer walks through the crash site, the background building is named Gruno & Dunder.
Minus the "&", the anagram spells "underground".

Was it just me that was irked that the shifter
1) killed charlie
2) disrobed
3) shot the nurses body
4) dressed the nurse
5) shape shifted into charlie
6) hid charlie's body
7) put on charlie's clothes

All in the time it took Peter to run down a hall.

Someone mentioned a second shifter, but that wasn't hinted at all in the episode. Can the shifters manipulate time in some way?

zak said...

Mechno, you are not alone, that is my thinking too. It's impossible in the time given. The only solution is that he had help.

The Observe at 0:25 on hulu

@ Mechno:

there are also 2 body at the end (the nurse and charlie)

there shoudn't be a nurses body because he was the nurse (but shape shiftet into charlie) - only if he had hidden the body from her down there before it would be possible...

I think everyone is right to question Charlie's end

Even if it was plausible that the shapeshifter could have pulled off his switcheroo in that small window of time, there should have been just Charlie's dead body and the body of the shapeshifter as Charlie's double. If you follow the logic of the rest of the episode the whole thing just doesn't make much sense.
