PRESS:

John Noble (The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King) has been tapped as one of the three leads in "Fringe," Fox's high-profile sci-fi drama from J.J. Abrams, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci.

The Hollywood Reporter says "The Wire" co-star Lance Reddick also has been cast in the project produced by Warner Bros. TV and Abrams' Bad Robot.

The two-hour pilot, being directed by Alex Graves, centers on a young female FBI agent who is forced to confront the spread of unexplained phenomena and work with Dr. Walter Bishop (Noble), an institutionalized scientist whose work might be at the center of the coming storm. - ComingSoon
... Driving the show will be the Walter Bishop character, a larger-than-life figure who bears some resemblance to the titular character in Fox's "House." In the pilot, he's in a mental hospital.

"Imagine that your father is Frankenstein mixed with Albert Einstein," Orci said. "He's someone who has the mental ability to solve so many problems but is so different that communicating with them is almost impossible." - ComingSoon
