  1. Always answer with Olivia, Josh! ALWAYS!! :P

  2. I just love Peter, but Joshua gets my nerves sometimes. But he's charming in this video. I like him more when he doesn't try to be "intense". And obviously, when he doesn't say he prefers Fauxlivia...

  3. Agreed. I don't know why he hates on Olivia so much. Thank goodness it isn't his choice on how things turn out.

  4. He is just liking to tease the fans .I think , Well it's Josh choice not Peter :P but in Fringe it's Peter choice not Josh :D

  5. I'm not fond of Joshua Jackson either, to be honest I don't care for him at all. I'm not that invested in his character on the show, not like I am Olivia and Walter.

  6. Fringeviewer here: For some reason, I tend to agree with his statement about the Peter-Olivia relationship. But then, Torv said something about her character not being quite the same without Peter (or something to that effect). These are just their opinions; we still have to say what the writers do about the whole thing.

All in all, the scenes they play together are wonderfully natural and seemingly spontaneous. They are, indeed, good actors.

  7. Whenever he talks about Peter and Olivia's relationship, I keep thinking 'the man doth protest too much.' What's up with him and that?

  8. Real1,

He doesn't care for you either!

Wow, is this how fans react when someone is having their own opinion, or at least different than yous? What a great fandon Fringe has!!!! Bravo!

  9. It's always fun to listen to Josh Jackson, but when it comes to the P/O stuff I always find myself totally disagreeing with him every season so far-like his answer to the last question.

Thank goodness J&J are telling the story!

Now I have to go try to get Josh's Fauxlivia favoritism out of my head.

  10. I love that Josh and Anna are on the same page, when it comes to the P/O relationship. They don't like the couple and they prefer their characters to be with other people. Anna wants Olivia with Lincoln and Josh doesn't want Peter with Olivia.

Josh keeps getting asked these questions about P/O and we always get the same answer. Get over it, people! He doesn't like the shippy stuff, he's a geek. If the writers gave him more to do than playing Olivia's boyfriend, maybe he wouldn't be so opposed to the romance. I have to agree with Josh about the P/O stuff. It's the perfect opportunity to kill it, it has done Peter more damage than good.

  11. Maybe its because Olivia is moody, closed off, not fun, doesn't have a sense of humor...just saying.

Oh and scifi, why are you even here watching a Joshua Jackson video if you don't care about him?

  12. Oh and btw, this peter/Olivia thing was a pain, all it did was divide the audience, make peter look bad, make Olivia look superior, not to mention nobody bothered to look at peter's side of anything. He was the bad guy despite none of this was his fault.

  15. Fringeobsessed, I TOTALY agree with you. I find it funny because it just goes to show how great they are as actors! at least Anna, though she may not agree 100%, IMO is not as dead-against there being a P/O relationship as Josh is.

  16. I can't understand how nobody could choose Fauxlivia over Olivia, but....I like a lot what he says about the possibility of other universes, and of other Peters. That what is important is the show and the story that has to be told, not him having such a good time as his cast mates....thats really professional.

  17. Roneo, let's say fauxlivia never gotten involved with peter and Olivia and killed that man or never did walternate's job, what is honestly wrong with her? She could be a fun person to be with. She was minding her own business and had her own life.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I mean not everyone will be like Olivia.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Actually , AltOlivia (Faulivia) is not interesting , she is sexy yes but other than that she is without brain , she is there just to tear thing up , I only handling her because Anna is acting her that it ,

After the end of S3 , i was looking in to Red Peter's character and hoping for seeing red Peter s1 and s2 , then i got it ..... Peter is from the other side .. he was living a life not belong to him .. he was not standing right with his fate so he was as he was ... I came to see that's what the writers were wanting us to see and to understand ..... and totally it's a wonderful job from the writers to write this kind of character .

    Josh did it good ,

  20. But real1, Fauxlivia is not a stupid person, she just made a STUPID DECISION same with Peter. And remember, Fauxlivia didn't care at all about the other side AND Walternate orchestrated this whole thing. Her, Peter and Olivia were pawns in Walternate's game. So i can't hate Fauxlivia that much.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Kate, IF we could ignore those evils she did, well, she not that bad. After all, she's an Olivia Duhnam. She's sexy and smart. And she makes jokes, indeed.

But she has not (or at least, I yet haven´t seen) Olivia's honesty, integrity, purity of heart, sincerity, empathy, greatheartednesses, sense of just.....passion, even. I wouldn't say that she's brainless, nevertheless....I don´t hate her to that extent. But our Olivia is an actual HERO with all the meaning of the word; Fauxlivia isn't.

Naturally, everyone is free to choose what kind of people want to live with. Probably Fauxlivia is easier to get along. But I have no doubt what my choice would be.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Kate ,

I am not that good in English as how Roneo is but I will say :

there is one Olivia Dunham which can be counted , there is one strongest , one survivor , one crowbar , one damn very excellent FBI agent , one selfless , one damn good genius character , one fighter , one emotional and sensible .. and the list will never end .

So , nope .. am not going to give her any credit and to be fair .. her credit with me is just Anna Torv is acting her other than that nothing in her .

    Real1

    ReplyDelete
  23. roneo, you are right, but the question is not "Who is a better person?". I can imagine Fauxlivia is better in bed, she seemed more passionate and into it, when she was with Peter. Olivia is very nice, but the image I have of her is Olivia under layers and layers of clothes and wrapped tightly in a coat leading Peter upstairs. It was sweet, but hardly sexy. I think they just talked and nothing else.

    ReplyDelete
  24. It's easy to see why Joshua J said Peter would choose Faux.
Peter was definately more affectionate with Fauxlivia (at least they showed more physical affection between the two). When Peter was shown with Olivia it was always Her who made the first move or said the cheesy stuff (unlike Peter with Faux getting her brekkie 'just for being her' etc). Peter seemed a bit more cold or slower to recipricate Olivia's advances.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Well fringeaddict, Olivia did keep pressing Peter about his feelings for Fauxlivia. There is nothing more unattractive about a potential girlfriend than having them grill you about an ex-girlfriend. She gave him crap for the book, the coffee and the whole "not looking into Fauxlivia's eyes.

Not to mention, she DID tell Peter that she didn't want to be with him.

So, Olivia tends to play mind games with Peter.

Olivia is not the best girlfriend since she hardly thinks of PETER's feelings.

    ReplyDelete
  26. IMO, Peter wasn't "cold", he was only giving Olivia her space and his as well. I mean, he DID just get out of the relationship with Fauxlivia and Olivia didn't want to get with him.

There was also the SHAPESHIFTER killings which probably was on Peter's mind a lot and he couldn't possibly get into a romance with her after that.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Kate ,

you are forgetting that Olivia was left behind at another universe and no one was there for her .. not even red Peter ... and when she finally came back home ... she is facing the truth about no one no one discovered the impostor ... needless to say that Peter didn't even show her any love or care .... , and to end all of this conversation .. by LSD .. and how Peter was able to know the real her from the alternate .. Olivia was trusting red Peter and not afraid from going farther ... so I think the rift was close .

  28. So what? It wasn't peter's fault that Olivia got kidnapped nor is it our team's fault but to avoid yet another let's bash peter and make Olivia out to be victim conversation, I am done.

    ReplyDelete
  29. One more thing, Peter didn't show any love or care... WHAT.EVER.

    ReplyDelete
  30. You know, thank god, Peter didn't exist cause then He can't remember how crappy his life would have been if he had been with Olivia and Fauxlivia. Peter doesn't deserve this bashing.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I´m not sure the way Fauxlivia was with Peter over-here cuold be considered: she was playing the "geisha role", as much as she eventually got involved. But obviously, she did it well.

My own personal take in Olivia's character is that she is really passionate, in everything she does, that including bedding. But perhaps I'm just blinded for my love for her.

I guess Peter is the only one who can tell who's the best lover.....XD.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Is Peter's character returning? If he's not, I'm OK with that because I am very excited they have added Lincoln as a recurring character, that man is hot!

    ReplyDelete
  33. "Is Peter's character returning?"

I don't think so. The producers haven't expressed any interest in bringing him back, but Josh is still in the show. Lincoln is kind of cute in a very young kind of way. A bit feminine and bland if you ask me, but that's the fashion now. I wouldn't be impressed if Olivia ended with a kid like that, but Anna Torv wants a romance between Olivia and Lincoln. In a way, I think it would be awesome, because all of her whining about Peter and the P/O destiny stuff would be rendered moot.

    ReplyDelete
  34. You know something is wrong when people are OK with seeing a character we have come to know for 3 years gone and not returning because oh Lincoln is sooooooooo hot.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Bolivia or Olivia? That's easy. Ladies, you know that you tend to favor the "bad boy" image when dating. Well Peter is/was that bad boy most of his adult life. Why wouldn't he choose Bolivia. Olivia is always giving him the "yes/no/maybe/I'm sure" signals and hesitates at every relationship development. Bolivia has the "bad girl" image to match his "bad boy" facade. Of course he is ultimately going to select her - she put out as soon as she got to his universe - and what guy can resist a chick with an "evil vagenda"? Or a "righteous vagenda" for that matter?

  36. Wow. I don't understand all this arguing. Can't we just love Fringe for being Fringe? I am an Olivia fan through and through. She is the strongest, most determined, thoughtful, caring, tormented, loving, downright awesome FBI agent I have ever seen. Olivia is my inspiration. I do believe she went through unimaginable torture by being kidnapped and put in captivity, given drugs to convince her she was someone else, clinging on to her love for Peter (which says something there because she has tried so hard in the past to depend only on herself) and then fighting her way back home. What she dealt with after that is something that all of us face at one point or another. Are we important to the people that we care about? Would they miss us if we were gone? Would anyone notice? And nobody did. The people she considered family didn't even notice her absence let alone try to save her until some random stranger told Peter the truth. The aftermath of that kind of betrayal whether it was on purpose of not, still scars a person and I think the show did a wonderful job of portraying her journey from her feeling totally worthless to finding that strength in herself while still remaining vulnerable to those people she loves.
That said, I was VERY angry at Peter for not recognizing the women he was in love with as well as Fauxlivia for what she did. I think that was what the writers intended. But when Peter saw the consequences of not trusting his gut when Olivia did come back…those were some of the most heartbreaking scenes of the entire series. At that moment, I couldn’t be mad at Peter anymore. He also has gone through an ordeal. Being kidnapped (despite the circumstances which I don’t believe he is even aware of yet) and finding out about it 25 years later is more than enough, let alone being brought to his own world again only to discover his father wants to use him to destroy the world he grew up in and holds the people he loves. Olivia was the only person he trusted so it makes sense that he wouldn’t question what he thought was changes in Olivia brought about by their relationship. I think that’s what makes Peter and Olivia so good together. They have both been scarred in ways that connect them beyond just a romantic relationship. They belong together.
On to Fauxlivia, it took me a LONG time to look past my anger of what she did to Peter and Olivia but as the season progressed, I saw more and more of our Olivia’s traits and personality coming through to her as she faced more and more challenges. I also began to realize that Fauxlivia was a victim just as much as Peter and Olivia and that she was only being a soldier following orders like she was trained to be. By the time Immortality came, I was on Fauxlivia’s side as much as anyone. And Bloodline, I discovered that losing her would be as much of a loss as losing Olivia.
That was the point the writers were getting at. What other show can make the viewers love the “enemy” as much as the hero? It doesn’t need to be a war guys. Peter will be back I’m sure of it. They won’t get rid of a character we have grown to love for three years. I love Lincoln too but he could never replace Peter and Olivia will remember that.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Fringie6989, not sure how the gang COULD HAVE saved her even if they did know. Remember James heath, Sarah Clark and nick lane? They were suffering after being switched over and peter had to put to sleep for 3 days after his trip. So unless another cortexiphan subject can cross over safely, the gang could have done nothing. Also stop blaming this on our gang. How could they Possibly have known about walternate's plan to kidnap Olivia? It makes no sense to make our gang the bad guys here. its annoying to read nobody missed Olivia or cared, honestly the whole world does not revolve around Olivia.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Wow I never said it was any of their faults for not saving her. Walter did everything he could to think of a way of crossing over and had he found a solution, he and Peter, possibly Broyles too would have jumped on it despite the consequences. And Peter DID notice the difference but passed them off as a result of their new relationship so if he had listened to his instinct, it wouldn't have been that much of a leap to consider that there had been an infiltration and that Olivia had been kidnapped.

Its a matter of fact that Olivia wasn't missed. Not a single one of them noticed that she had been replaced. Just to be clear, I am not blaming any of them for not noticing, its just a fact.

And like it or not, the show does indeed revolve around Olivia. It has been this way and will continue to be this way. She is the leading character, the rest are supporting characters. That's not going to change. AS much as I love Peter, he is not going to get more screen time than Olivia and it shouldn't be that way anyway. Josh is perfectly aware of what he signed on for. In some of your other posts, you said you were done watching anyway so what does it matter?

    ReplyDelete
  39. It always comes to that, Olivia is the main character others be damned. They shouldn't get any CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT, they are just there just to be olivia's common slave.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I never said that and the writers have done a remarkable job developing both the lead character AND all of the supporting characters but it doesn't matter what I say because it will just get twisted so I'm not going to waste any more energy arguing.

    ReplyDelete
  41. WOW, was it necessary to make this post about how secondary everyone to Olivia is Fringie6989? The discussion was about what Joshua Jackson said in the video, some people agree and some disagree. I don't see what Olivia's perils in the alternate universe have to do with Josh's preferences. But I'll comment on a couple of things:

    - Olivia wasn't missed. Neither was Fauxlivia. Neither was Charlie. Neither was Senator Van Horn.

    - If you're trying to justify beforehand the fact that everyone, including Olivia forgot Peter, you don't have to. Why should they remember someone, who doesn't exist? Olivia and her awesome memory already forgot him once, while he existed. I doubt they'll bring Peter back, but if they do (the only way I'm going to watch this show) I don't want her to remember him, so that they can continue with their lives separately.

    - I understand hero worship. That's not something I do, particularly with fictional characters, but I understand that need. However, that doesn't make everyone, who isn't called Olivia secondary. The producers said there are 3 main characters. In reality there are 2, because Peter has always been treated as a periferal character by those producers. I can tell you that Walter is not secondary to Olivia. Sadly, I can also tell you that Peter is secondary to Astrid, who has taken over the role of Walter's caretaker now. Maybe it's a good thing that Peter doesn't exist.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Wow take things out of context much? I don't worship any fictional character. and I certainly don't think Olivia is any more important than the others. Fact of the matter is that this show has been centered around Olivia and her journey but the others have had their storied explored just as much. This whole thing has been about showing how EACH character has a role in this show, they complement each other. This has nothing to do with Josh's preferences. I don't really care if he prefers Fauxlivia over Olivia. That's his choice.

    ReplyDelete
  43. LOL.... This whole thread is hilarious!.... Looks like people are suffering from withdrawel symptoms or something 'cause I'm getting the impression that everyone is getting feisty and antsy about EVERYTHING no matter what the topic is.
Like Walter once yelled, "You Lunatics!!"

  44. "Wow take things out of context much? I don't worship any fictional character. and I certainly don't think Olivia is any more important than the others."

Read your own first post again and tell me about not taking things out of context or worshiping fictional characters (nothing wrong with that).

"Like Walter once yelled, "You Lunatics!!""

    LOL, the irony!

  45. You don't know me so please don't act like you do. This has been blown way out of proportion. I am SO done with this argument.

    ReplyDelete
  46. And just to be clear. I DO NOT worship a fictional character. I can be inspired and love a character without worshipping that character.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Our Olivia is a leader and Fauxolivia is a follower. How anyone can like Faux over our Olivia is just beyond me!!! Our Olivia was a MILITARY PROSECUTOR for goodness sakes! She is smart while Faux is a show off. Notice how she loves to swing her long red hair? Just a show off! FauxOlivia is also a SLUT! She's been with Frank for six years, no baby. Sleeps with Peter and pops out a baby! Peter didn't love her, otherwise he would've tried to go back to Redverse with her! So to all the fans who wanted Peter with FAUX, screw you!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Lead Characters are Olivia and Peter. The saga will always center on them and will end with the resolution of their story.a

Supporting characters are Walter, Broyles, Nina and Astrid. Their individual role is to help tell the overall saga about Peter and Olivia. Of course they get some dedicated storytelling themselves, but the grand theme is not about them. Walter, as much as we like him, will always be a supporting character to overall saga. And John Noble will always fall into the Supporting Actor category. The category is not about the skill of the actor, it is about the role of the character they play in the series.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Peter is not the lead, he is SECONDARY. He is the one everyone else is supposed to react to and get awards and emmy buzz. ALL RIGHT?

    ReplyDelete
  50. No wait, Peter is more of a OBJECT. No feelings, no character development, nothing. Peter is nothing.

    ReplyDelete
  51. People believing what Josh said in the last question? You have got to be kidding me. Did you not see his expression before answering? What sort of question is it anyway. He was joking, he picked someone who was going to kill him. LOL.

Josh was asked how he would like P/O to end and he answered that he liked the fact that Peter sacrificed his life, so that Olivia could live. That's true love, people. So, he sees Olivia as Peter's true life time love. That's awesome and I don't see how that is dumping on P/O.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Of course, you could argue that Walter is the central character. He was, and still is, the prime mover of the plot. He conducted the experiments on Olivia as a child. His obsession with Peter led to the creation of the machine, and the subsequent dire effects on both universes. It is Peter's relationship with him which could be seen as the core emotional axis of the show, though how Olivia, Astrid, Broyles, Bell, Nina Sharp etc interact with him are also key to how we see him and them. Olivia may be our viewpoint character (she is mine) but in terms of centrality to what happens, Walter is indispensible.

Meanwhile, I am baffled. The machine was built to save Peter's life. If Peter had never been alive, it would not have been built. A Peterless pair of universes would have been safe universes (as far as anything is safe, which is not very). Yet here we are at the end of season 3 without Peter and yet with both universes still in peril.

Obviously Peter's non existance is not an unqualified one. The effects of his existance remain, so since we have the consequences, there must be a potential for the cause still to exist too.

    Or so I deduce.

Anyway, Fringe will go on, and that is all I really care about.

    Briar
