      Email Post       1/27/2013 10:50:00 PM

In this episode of The Fringe Podcast we bring you our exclusive interview with the authors of September's Notbook: The Bishop Paradox, Tara Bennett and Paul Terry. Tara and Paul share how the project got started, how involved executive producers Joel Wyman and Jeff Pinkner were with the the project, and how the folks at Warner Brothers and even JJ Abrams got involved with the book. They reveal how the book is structured and tease some of the insights to be discovered within its pages.

The authors also tell us about their experiences with Fringe fans, how they hid easter eggs to the fans in the book, and how the Fringe fandom has forever changed the television landscape. Tara and Paul also spend a few minutes telling us about their thoughts on the Fringe finale and how it lined up with the larger story of Fringe.

Deus Ex Michaelna

~~~
Fauxlivia - ‘Stop checking out my young ass.’
~~~
Walter, ‘ It’s a beautiful name - Astrid.’
~~~
Walter, ‘You have always been my favorite thing, son.’
~~~
Donald to December, ‘You can change destiny.  If you have the will to change it.  It may require sacrifice.’
~~~
The Fringe Series Finale:
1) Emotionally Satisfying.
2) Mythologically Satisfying.
3) Narrative Ninja.
'That is cool!'
A tip of the Fringe Fedora to everyone connected with the Fringe show.  They invoked one of those pat phrases that make fans cringe whenever such platitudes are uttered - this season will be a love letter to the fans - pulled it off and made it a first class delivery.
Fringe Benefits Project Artist Interview Gary Pullin
      Email Post       1/26/2013 10:57:00 AM
The fifth in our series of Fringe Benefits Project Artist Interviews is with "Ghoulish" Gary Pullin who created the poster for Episode 1.13 - The Transformation.
Q - Mr. Jensen Karp is the mastermind behind Gallery 1988 and The Fringe Benefits Project. When did he contact you about participating in the series? How much advance notice/working time did you have? Especially as the episodes were voted for by the fans of the show.
A - Back in December I got an email from Jensen asking if I liked Fringe. I'll be honest, living the freelance life hasn't opened up a lot of time for TV so I had only seen a few episodes but thought it was an awesome show. In fact, a lot of it was filmed in an old church just steps away from my home here in Toronto. When he sent me the episode "The Transformation" how could I resist, it had a great monster and I knew I wanted in on the project.
Q - If you had the chance to create another print in this series what moment would you have chosen?
The next in our series of Fringe Benefits Project artist interviews is with Anthony Petrie the creator of the first poster in the series for episode 2.18 White Tulip.
Q - If you had the chance to create another print in this series what moment would you have chosen?
I loved the creature from the episode "Unleashed," it would have been a lot of fun to draw.
No, we were allowed to depict the episode however we felt was most appropriate.
Fringe Observiews 5.11 The Boy Must Live
      Email Post       1/21/2013 11:40:00 AM
Welcome to the Observiews for Season 5 of Fringe. I call them Observiews because they are more visual observations than deep thinking reviews, if that makes sense.
Screen caps from this episode are taken from fringefiles.com. Dialog is from fringepedia.net.
All observations are mine and therefore could be totally off the wall and/or wrong. I have not read or looked at any recaps or reviews. I could also have missed a few things, oh well…
5.01 Transilience Thought Unifier Model-11
CAPTAIN WINDMARK: "Ah, you're trying to think of music. You miss music."
WALTER: "There's not a lot of it here."
CAPTAIN WINDMARK: "We tolerate it. But it's merely tones, rhythms, and harmonic vibrations I don't understand."
WALTER: "Mostly it amazes me. Music helps you shift perspective, to see things differently if you need to."
CAPTAIN WINDMARK: "See things? Like hope?"
WALTER: "Yeah. Very much like that."
CAPTAIN WINDMARK: "But there is no hope... for you."
For one, Captain Windmark, I think you are underestimating the Bishops and two, this scene entails a theme that was present in the current episode.
The Fringe Podcast Episode 526-Fringe Finale Party and Initial Reaction
In this episode of The Fringe Podcast we bring you our initial reactions recorded LIVE at our Fringe Finale Party in Oklahoma City. You'll hear our thoughts on the time reset, the resolution of Walter's character, the death of Windmark, and some of our favorite moments. You'll also hear from several members of the Fringe community that attended the party as they share their thoughts on the finale and their experiences over the last 5 seasons. Even though I introduced this as episode 528, it is actually episode 526.
Thank you to everyone that helped make our finale party possible! We're especially grateful to all those for their support for all of season 5 of The Fringe Podcast and covering some of the costs of our Fringe Finale Party!
Join our next live show on February 3 as we give our full finale review and share your feedback! Send in you feedback by calling our voice feedback line at 304-837-2278 or email us at feedback@thefringepodcast.com.
