Welcome to the Observiews for Season 5 of Fringe. I call them Observiews because they are more visual observations than deep thinking reviews, if that makes sense.
Screen caps from this episode are taken from fringefiles.com. Dialog is from fringepedia.net.
All observations are mine and therefore could be totally off the wall and/or wrong. I have not read or looked at any recaps or reviews. I could also have missed a few things, oh well…
We can play the "finding the Observer game" this week. Have you found him? Here he is...

(Normally $179 per night) Each guest is responsible for any in-room purchases such as food, drink, movies, games, etc. (Reservations must be made by Jan 2, 2013 in order to receive the discounted rate)
If needed, on-site parking is available for an additional fee. We have negotiated a special self-parking rate of $5 per day.
Our special group rate can be used on rooms booked for Thursday, January 17, 2013 and Friday, January 18, 2013. To reserve your room(s), click this link or call 1-800-468-3571.
The hotel is adjacent to the Cox Convention Center and offers a sky bridge to the event space for convenient access to the event.
We aren't sure if using the bridge to cross from the hotel to the convention center will cause you to run in to your doppelgänger, but we are sure that this will be a great night of joy and bittersweet memories as we say goodbye to our favorite show. We hope to see you there!

The Fringe Podcast Episode 519-Feedback For Black Blotter
By Darrell Email Post 12/19/2012 11:27:00 PM Categories: Podcast, The Fringe Podcast
In episode 519 of The Fringe Podcast we share some of the listener feedback we received for the Fringe season 5 episode, "Black Blotter." We hear various theories about Peter, September, the observer boy, Sam Weiss, Walter and Olivia. We hear from some that are still sure that Sam Weiss is the same person as Donald, and we hear a very interesting reason to believe that might be true. We also hear some feedback that points out a lot of the places that "Black Blotter" tied in to other Fringe episodes, a comparison to Japanese Anime, and how the device might take out the observers.
We also share information about our Fringe finale party. Come join us for the finale!

Fringe Review: Black Blotter

“Why are those mice shooting at us?”
The Theme of the Season is a question: how far will you go to save the world? And the answer has been: not too far. Last week, Peter chose to remain a member of humankind, sacrificing his time-reading abilities to stay a son, father, and husband. This week, a trip through Walter’s brain revealed that he, too, wants to maintain the best part of himself. He’s afraid that he has gone too far, now as then.

Fringe 5.09 Review - Black Blotter

Hurdy, Gurdy, Pusher Man Goes A Wandering
~~~
Walter to Carla Warren - "I wanted to cry for you. But I'm different now."
~~~
Pusher Man Lyrics -
Pete Shelley
I went to my pad
And I crashed on my bed
I kept taking that snuff
Until it blew my head
It was really gunpowder
I a flash in the pan
I a charcoaled cinder
God damn the pusher man
~~~
As a nod to previous seasons where the nineteenth episode were always something outside the lines, even for Fringe, Episode 9 was given that honor in this shortened final season. Less ambitious this time, no doubt due to a decreased budget, Walter’s discovery of an excellent batch of LSD - Black Blotter - still made for a compelling, inner mind episode.
Fringe Glyph Code 509: "Black Blotter"
By Dennis Email Post 12/14/2012 10:19:00 PM Categories: Easter Eggs, Fringe, Glyphs, Season 5
The Glyphs code in the Fringe episode "Black Blotter" spelled out GUILT, like how Walter felt guilty about his lab assistant's death.
For more information on the Fringe Glyphs, check out Fringepedia's Glyph / Symbols page, which has all the previous glyphs and codes.
