Who's "Bone-o"?
Oh, it's Bono, actually. He's a musician.
Oh, yeah. Is he any good?
One of the few I like on this side.
Well, he's easy on the eyes.
Careful. Their side may be alluring, but don't be taken in by it. They started the war. Remember?

Some listeners loved it and even thought it was one of the best episodes ever. Other listeners thought it was terrible. Some listeners thought the death in this episode was a cheap shot killing of a side character, others thought it was a shocking death of a major character.

We discuss the various perspectives, Etta's apparent lack of cortexiphan, where the show might go from here and a WHOLE LOT more in this episode.

Fringe Observiews 5.04 The Bullet That Saved The World

      Email Post       10/31/2012 12:28:00 AM

Welcome to the Observiews for Season 5 of Fringe. I call them Observiews because they are more visual observations than deep thinking reviews, if that makes sense.
Screen caps from this episode are taken from fringefiles.com. Dialog is from fringepedia.net/transcripts.

All observations are mine and therefore could be totally off the wall and/or wrong. I have not read or looked at any recaps or reviews. I could also have missed a few things, oh well…

I loved this episode just as much I did the others so far but my "little visual obserview heart" was doing cart wheels because of all the cool things packed into this one.

Observer Talk - The Bullet That Saved The World

      Email Post       10/30/2012 11:20:00 AM

The events of this weeks episode are still rippling through the Fringe fan community, but I'm not going to touch on that in this article.

As in previous editions I want to talk about the use of the Observer language both seen and unseen in this episode, and elsewhere around the internet.

First to discuss is September's Notebook, not the one we have seen in the show, but the forthcoming book by Tara Bennett and Paul Terry.

The front cover of which has some observer writing and this translates to "a cautionary tale"

“Love.”

I spent this entire episode waiting for something, watching to see how Fringe would avoid doing the obvious, plotting out how the eventual something would be sad—but resolved, as clearly the Over-Therians were destined to return, so it would all work out. But, frankly, I was overthinking it.
