Here's a really great post-panel interview with executive producer, Joel Wyman, in one of the best videos from the SDCC.

It's hard to hear Joel with all the background noise, but he says some really interesting things about the last 13 episodes.

The live blog for the San Diego Comic Con 2012 Fringe Panel
July 15, 2012 by Marisa Roffman

10:10 AM – The sizzle reel just ended and now it’s time for the panel!
10:11 AM – The Con officials didn’t want to let the fans raise their white tulips and they did it anyway. Go fans!
10:12 AM – Blair Brown isn’t here, so J.H. Wyman films a video of the fans saying “We miss you, Blair!”
10:13 AM – It’s official: “It’s going to pick up exactly where we left off in 4×19…the next day,” Wyman says of season 5.

10:15 AM – “I had two and a half versions of what we could do for the end and…then it became very clear,” Wyman says of the series’ ending. The cast does know where the show is going, and they’re happy about having that information.

10:16 AM – “Just as you guys want the show, we all want the show to end well…to give us the chance to give it our best,” Josh Jackson says.

10:18 AM – Fans can have the opportunity to have their name in an official FRINGE book about September’s observations of the people. (Additional nfo to come later.) Why they’re doing this for the fans: “This is the little show that could and I can’t believe we’re here,” Wyman says. “I appreciate it so much.”

10:19 AM – Jasika Nicole is talking about the Walter-Astrid relationship. She says she was trying convince herself it was OK if she got killed off, but, “I didn’t die! I made it to the fifth season!”

10:22 AM – Nicole shares that Lance Reddick tried to hide out in Comic-Con by wearing a BREAKING BAD hat and it so didn’t work out, but she was able to hide out.

10:23 AM – “I would like to aspire to the nobility that Peter has developed over the five years,” Josh Jackson says of what he has learned from Peter over the past five seasons.

10:24 AM – Fans misinterpret Anna Torv’s use of the word “come” and let’s just say there was way too much inappropriate laughter from both the fans and the panelists.

10:27 AM – “What we’ve learned is about the power of love,” John Noble says. “Though all of the science fiction and the hurdles we’ve had to go through, it’s the love.”

Fringe's EW Interview at SDCC 2012

      Email Post       7/14/2012 07:53:00 PM

It's been a busy day in social media and at the San Diego Comic Con for Fringe, and here's a fun interview filmed today with Anna Torv, John Noble, Joshua Jackson, and Lance Reddick by Entertainment Weekly.
"Tomorrow's panel" they are referring to is, of course, the last Fringe Q&A panel ever at the SDCC, which will take place Sunday at 10AM Pacific Time.

Loyalty Is Opportunity!

      Email Post       7/14/2012 02:26:00 AM

In the TV Guide Comic-Con Special, one of whose four covers is devoted to FRINGE, you'll find the amusing full page ad depicted above. As you can see, it declares that Loyalty Is Opportunity and encourages you to Join Us. Underneath this are the words HEED OBEY SERVE in the Observer alphabet and the final helpful note For More Information, Contact Your Local Representative. There's no mention of the show's name at all (not that there needs to be!) and there are ads for the upcoming series The Following and Arrow that use the same technique of appearing to come from the reality of the show without naming names. So what are you waiting for? Get down to that recruiting office!

Fringe at the San Diego Comic Con(SDCC)

      Email Post       7/12/2012 11:34:00 PM

It's that time of year again and the San Diego Comic Con(SDCC) is in full swing.
And some of our favorite Fringe stars will again be taking part in the events.

Anna Torv is on the "Kick Ass Women" Panel again tomorrow:
Friday, July 13

Basically, a discussion with women who kick ass. Moderated by EW's Lynette Rice. Ballroom 20

Jasika Nicole is on a TV Guide Magazine Fan Favorites Panel on Saturday:
1:00-2:00 TV Guide Magazine: Fan Favorites— TV Guide magazine returns with another all-star panel. Moderated by editor-in-chief Debra Birnbaum, Fan Favorites brings together stars from TV's hottest shows for a lively discussion filled with behind-the-scenes scoop. And, of course the very last appearance of the Fringe stars at SDCC for a Q&A Session on Sunday:

Series stars Anna Torv (The Pacific), Josh Jackson (Dawson's Creek), Lance Reddick (Lost), Blair Brown (Altered States), Jasika Nicole (Take the Lead), and John Noble (The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King), along with executive producer J. The Fringe Podcast Summer Rewatch Episode 07

      Email Post       7/08/2012 02:34:00 PM

In this episode of The Fringe Podcast we continue our summer rewatch of Fringe season 1 through 4. In this episode we discuss the season 2 Fringe episodes, “Johari Window,” “What Lies Below,” “The Bishop Revival,” “Jacksonville,” and “Peter.” This episode features community members Hank, Devynn, and first timer, Erin. They provided some very excellent anf insightful contributions and we are grateful for their participation. We discuss several of the ways that these episodes tie in to episodes from Season 4 and speculate on how they might even tie in to what we hope to see in season 5. We discuss the continued build up of Peter’s origin, the parallels with William Bell’s season 4 motivations, “Back to the Future,” and the Walter vs. Walternate dynamic.

Send in you theories and feedback to 304-837-2278 or feedback@thefringepdodcast.com.

In this episode of The Fringe Podcast we continue our rewatch of Fringe season 2 with "Earthling," "Of Human Action," August," "Snakehead," and "Grey Matters." This episode features community members Heather, Devynn, Allan and Brandon, and they provide some great, in-depth insight on this batch of episodes. We draw on many parallels between the story lines we saw in this episodes with larger plot lines that would come into play later on in seasons 2, 3, and 4. We also discuss the role of the Observers in and how their story might be continued in season 5, a few inconsistencies we found and what possible explanations there might be, and we also dig in to the involvement of William Bell.
