This story idea has certainly always been out there. If the scripts were thought up that far ahead, and if Olivia was played like she always knew the risk of being pregnant, would that have translated into the hesitant reaction behind that closed door before seducing Peter? In any case, now we bare witness to the real consequences of that choice. In the aftermath of "Immortality", Liv is resigned to being a single parent, with mom Marilyn and Lincoln for moral support. Olivia also has a reality check. There is high chance that she might be a carrier for Viral Propagated Eclampsia (VPE), the same disease that took her sister Rachel's life. Either she or the child or both will not survive delivery.

An Early Happy Birthday to the Fringe Media Master, Ari Margolis!

Ari Margolis, Fringe promo designer extraordinaire, is celebrating a birthday tomorrow!
For those of you who do not know Ari, he has been extremely generous over the several years, showering us with beautiful promos, and most recently, the "Past+Present+Future" video series.

He is also very engaged with us Fringe fans via Twitter, letting us know when promos are availalbe. He also started on May 26 the "Fringe Song Of The Day" program via Twitter, taking requests and posting them and his own choices, and even a few from Jasika Nicole, daily via Twitter with the song links, which has made this long hiatus much more comfortable and fun.

Ari has given so much to us we decided to give something back.
So here you go, Ari, a birthday vid from us at Fringe Television!
The video was designed by our own Aimee Long and inspired by me.

Fringe Summer Rewatch: #317 "Stowaway"

Stowaway was an episode that brought the viewers from the edge of bizarre to the cliff of hilarity. In the episode prior we see Walter use the bell that William Bell had gifted to Nina claiming that by striking it, it will bring William to them using the hypothesis of soul magnets. It works, but in a way few of us may or may not have expected. This one way freaky Friday on crack episode starts off with Bellivia (Bell in Olivia - yeah, you got it) explaining to Broyles, Walter, Peter, and Astrid in so many words, how he got where he was in Olivia's body and the situation. It turns out Bell can survive for several weeks in Olivia's body, but this is met with quick objections from Peter and Broyles. When asked, Bellivia tells them that he'd fed Olivia the soul magnets 7 months earlier in the tea he'd given her when she'd crossed over to interview him. Peter, of course, looks absolutely pissed through the explanation and who can blame him. They'd finally found their stride in the relationship they've worked like crazy to build from scratch and Bell has taken that away from them. In the end Bellivia and Walter convince Peter and Broyles to allow Bell to remain in Olivia for 48 hours until a suitable host is found and so Walter can pick Bell's brain on Walternate's plot. In reality, Walter is like a child who lost his best friend and now has a chance to keep him again. It's hard to blame Walter for this chance at happiness when he doesn't get much of it, but Peter and Broyles aren't willing to risk Olivia's life for Walter's happiness.

Fringe Summer Rewatch: #316 "Os"

"Os" was written by Josh Singer and Graham Roland, directed by Brad Anderson, and was first aired on March 11th, 2011. The glyph for this episode was EARTH.

To me. "Os" is the perfect combination of MOTW and mythology. As the next chronological episode in the Blue-verse after "6B", it's the first exposure to Olivia and Peter in their new relationship. At the same time, it's moving inexorably closer to the end of the world and Walter is losing his tenuous grasp on his self-confidence and abilities to find a solution without his partner, William Bell. There's Doubting Walter, Happy Olivia, and once again, Peter being a mensch, as he grapples with his decision to keep secrets from Olivia. Couple this with a compelling case unrelated to the other universe, but illustrating one of the main themes of Fringe ("How far would you go to save your son / a loved one?"), and "Os" proves to be an episode that satisfies both the mystery and the mythology lovers.

Fringe Summer Rewatch: #315 "Subject 13"

Join us for our Fringe Summer re-watch, where we review every episode of Fringe during the summer hiatus. Comments are welcome as we dig into the connections made over three seasons. 

One of the most critically acclaimed episodes of Fringe is the flashback story, Peter. This is where Walter revealed to Olivia how his son, Peter, had died, but he brought the dying Peter from the other universe here to cure him. Subject 13 picks up approximately six months after the Peter we now know was brought to this universe. Although it left me and many viewers scratching our heads on what are perceived as plot holes, I was for the most part impressed with this otherwise enlightening and highly emotionally charged episode.

Although some felt that they were a bit old for the roles, the young actors chosen for young Peter (Chandler Canterbury) and Olivia (Karley Scott Collins), were spot-on in my eyes. Each child even displayed small details that their adult counterparts show, such as Olivia tucking her hair behind her ears, and Peter’s long stare and the way he swallows hard when talking about a difficult subject.
