Fringe Episode Preview: There's More Than One of Everything

      Email Post       5/12/2009 01:25:00 PM

It's the episode you've been drooling over for weeks: the Season 1 finale of Fringe. Per usual, here are four nonspoilers for you to chew on between now and tonight:
  • If you thought Bad Dreams had a good tag scene...just wait for this one. It deserves a codename just as much as Lost's season-enders.
  • David Robert Jones' role in the grand scheme of things will become much clearer.
  • You will learn a secret about Peter, the something that John Noble referred to as "shattering" in his interview with us a few weeks back.
  • Dunham will make a discovery that changes our perspective on the Pattern.
Don't forget to drop by our Fringe LIVE Chat during tonight's episode, which airs at 9/8c on FOX.

Fringe Episode Preview: The Road Not Taken

      Email Post       5/05/2009 07:17:00 PM

Evening, Afringeonados. Are you pumped for tonight's penultimate Fringe? (Until Season 2, that is). Here are a few reasons to be drooling in anticipation:
  • You'll learn who wrote the original ZFT manuscript.
  • Midnight was the last "standalone" ep of the season.
  • You'll learn what Peter's been building in the lab.
  • Everyone's favorite DHS consultant is back.
  • Bizarre new questions are raised that set us up for the thrilling finale.
Don't forget to join us for our LIVE Chat before, during, and after the episode tonight!

Fringe Episode Preview: Midnight

      Email Post       4/28/2009 07:35:00 PM

Can tonight's episode live up to Bad Dreams' greatness? Midnight is definitely more of a standalone, as you can probably tell from the previews. Here are a few bread crumbs to get you hungry (no spoilers). Or maybe "thirsty" is more appropriate...
  • Broyles will pop up in an unusual locale. Well, unusual for Broyles, but not for Lance Reddick. I think you'll see what I mean...
  • Standalone or not, Midnight does tie into Fringe's core mythology.
  • Be sure to stay tuned for a last-second revelation, not unlike Bad Dreams' shocking tag scene.
Feel free to join us in our LIVE Chat before, during, and after the episode tonight, and look for my review tomorrow!

Fringe Episode Preview: Bad Dreams

      Email Post       4/21/2009 02:04:00 PM

Jacob dreams of a ladder to heaven
Tonight's episode of Fringe is another series landmark, in the vein of Bound and Ability, my two favorites eps so far. Want some non-spoiler hints to chew on?
  • Bad Dreams was written and directed by Akiva Goldsman, known for his feature screenplays like A Beautiful Mind, Cinderella Man, The Da Vinci Code, and this summer's Angels and Demons.
  • We'll finally see Anna Torv's favorite scene of season one.
  • After two ostensibly stand-alone episodes, Bad Dreams returns to the core Fringe mythology.
  • Peter and Olivia's relationship will deepen.
  • We'll learn more about Olivia's mysterious past.
Tune in to FOX tonight at 9/8c, and please join us in the live chat! Oh, and for those of you who TiVo, don't forget to record an extra 15 minutes or so in case American Idol runs over again.

Fringe Episode Preview: Unleashed

      Email Post       4/14/2009 01:07:00 PM

As last week's previews indicated, tonight's Fringe is a classic monster freak-fest, in the vein of Jaws, Alien, or The Relic. You're in for a real treat. Here are a few teases to get you on the edge of your seat (as if you need any help from me):
  • Get ready for the creepiest cold open to date.
  • Walter and Peter's budding relationship will face a new obstacle.
  • Olivia's got an admirer.
  • One character is pregnant. But it's not what you think.
Tune in tonight at 9/8c on Fox for episode 1.16 Unleashed, and stop by the chatroom if you can! Dennis and I will be there tonight, hopefully for the entire U.S. runtime from coast to coast. Last week's chat was a huge success, and writer/producer JR Orci even stopped by to chat.

Fringe Episode Preview: Inner Child

      Email Post       4/07/2009 02:28:00 PM

For the next six eps, I'll be giving you a little tease every Tuesday morning about what to expect when Fringe airs. No spoilers. Just something to whet your appetite (like the image above).

Tonight's Inner Child definitely cranks up the Creepy Factor. It wouldn't be a bad episode to air around Halloween. Here's what you can expect:
  • The best Walter moment ever. (You'll know it when you see it. John talked about it on Friday.)
  • More info on the Observer(s).
  • One of the most compelling mysteries we've seen yet.
  • Anna Torv's best performance of the season.
Check back after the episode for my review, along with a few theories for you to rip apart in the comments!
