JOHN NOBLE: NEW FRINGE EPISODES WILL BRING REVELATIONSAlso, note that Noble calls Peter episode 215. Just sayin...
Fringe has been away on a brief break, and its Winter finale ended on a cliffhanger that made the break feel far too long for Fringe addicts. But fear not, Fringeaholics new episodes are coming soon! The first new episode arrives on Thursday, April 1, and it takes us back to 1985, where we meet a younger, pre-institutionalized Dr. Walter Bishop and go back to the very origins of the Fringe mythology. In our exclusive interview with John Noble, he talks about the episode and the types of revelations we can expect to see. We also talk about how Walters progressed this season, the challenges of playing such a peculiar character, and maybe even a little hint of things to come as Fringe moves toward its second season finale. The Fringe Spring premiere is Thursday, April 1 at 9/8c on Fox.

Esquire: Anna Torv Is a Woman We Love
By Dennis Email Post 2/08/2010 06:22:00 PM Categories: Anna Torv, Fringe, Interview, Photos

Esquire magazine has selected Anna Torv for their upcoming "Women We Love" article - which is essentially a collection of random quotes and racy photos. The only quote even remotely Fringe related has to do with script dialogue:
Sometimes there will be a line in the script and I just can't imagine saying it. I'll ask an American and they'll say, "Oh, yeah. That's how we say it." We just say things differently in Australia — like torch. I'd ask, "Can I have the torch?" It seems to fall flat when I say, "Can I have the flashlight?"The March 2010 issue of Esquire should be on shelves soon, but you can see more photos after the jump, or at Esquire.com.
Also, check out the Fox Anna Torv promotional photos from last season.

Fringe Math
By Dennis Email Post 2/05/2010 12:26:00 PM Categories: Fringe
There are two numbering systems for Fringe episodes being used right now, depending on where you look - the actual script production number, and the order that they were aired during this season.
Jacksonville is episode #214, according to the official Fringe press releases. That's the numbering system we use.
Jacksonville was also the 15th episode shown during Season 2. So you may see other places have the designation of Season 2 Episode 15, 2.15, or 2x15.
The reason for the discrepancy is that the 10th episode shown this season, Unearthed, was actually filmed during season one (which explains why Charlie was still alive) and shown as a "bonus" episode this season. That episode is officially #121, but since it aired this season, some people are counting it as a season two episode and calling it 2.10.
I know it's a little confusing, but I wouldn't really worry about the episode numbers so much - that's just a technical issue that unfortunately won't resolve itself until next season.
And that's probably more than you ever wanted to know about Fringe episode numbers.
Fringe Theory: Manhatan and the Alternate Universe
By Dennis Email Post 2/05/2010 03:38:00 AM Categories: Fringe, Fringe Science, Season 2
Many people have noticed that in the opening sequence of the Fringe episode Jacksonville, the city of Manhattan is misspelled "Manhatan". Could this really be just a typo? Not a chance. This was the first hint that the opening scene started out in the alternate universe!
There are other odd things that could have been a tip-off: the strange reaction to seeing coffee (perhaps due to the "blight" mentioned in Grey Matters), and the blueprints for a "new" Pentagon.
Ted Pratchet can be seen wearing a wedding ring though out the scene, and we learn later that our Ted Pratchet was never married. And just for fun, there was even a photo of the Twin Towers on the wall of the office.
So what exactly happened? It was the reverse of Walter's car experiment. Thomas Newton's experiment transported the Dodst & Rathje building from "Manhatan" in the alternate universe, which collided with the Manhattan building in our universe. At the end of the episode, the universe compensated by taking the Brayson Place Hotel.
