Fox Fringe: Walter's Lab Notes #5

      Email Post       10/15/2008 03:37:00 AM

Walter's King of Cups card is a tarot card. Interpreting the King of Cups really depends on which source you favor, but one we found might allude to Olivia's relationship with John Scott.
The King of Cups does not repress his emotions and unconscious impulses but has learned to accept and deal with them in a mature and balanced manner. -- biddytarot.com
Most notable however, the face of the king is covered (or scratched out?) by a bird dropping?

Among a few crime scene photos of the elevator crash are two feathers, presumably those of the pigeons responsible for the mess. Also seemingly out of place, what appears to be a childhood art project "By: Peter!!"

There is also a diagram of the device used to reorient the pigeon's internal compasses so they could home in on Joseph Meegar's location.

      Email Post       10/01/2008 09:25:00 PM

TV Week is reporting that FOX has picked up FRINGE for a full season!

The network has ordered nine additional episodes of the sci-fi thriller, for a total of 22. The Bad Robot/Warner Bros. TV-produced series has averaged a 4.2/11 in adults 18-49 and 10.7 million total viewers since bowing last month, making it the top-rated new show of the season to date in the key demographic.

“We're having a blast working on this show with this great team of producers,” said Fox Entertainment President Kevin Reilly. “The series has really taken off creatively, and it's exciting to see that the audience is responding. We believe this is the first full season of many years to come.”

Fox Fringe: Walter's Lab Notes #4

      Email Post       10/01/2008 11:17:00 AM

There are a lot of allusions in this week's Walter's Lab Notes:
  • Sioux City Sasparilla is a brand soft drink, similar to root beer, made famous by The Big Lebowski
  • "What's the frequency Kenneth?" is a quote made famous by Dan Rather, then later by R.E.M. . The question was asked by a man who claimed that the news media was beaming signals into his head.
  • The Fisher King was in charge of protecting the Holy Grail (and also a movie by Terry Gilliam)

Fringe Press Kit: FBI Envelope

      Email Post       8/26/2008 11:02:00 AM

It's a little daunting to receive a large envelope from the FBI, until you take a closer look and realize that things are not what they seem, and this FBI is from Olivia Dunham's world in FRINGE (seen here with Phillip Broyles).

The first clue is the Frog glyph stamp, which is obviously not real and is postmarked FRINGE ON FOX 09 SEP 2008 TUE 9/10 C - the FRINGE premiere date. Another interesting detail is the braille at the bottom of the envelope, which translates to the Fibonacci numbers: 8 13 21 34 55

As previously reported, the envelope contains a letter, a digital voice recorder, "evidence" of The Pattern, and a DVD of the pilot episode. Here are some better photos of the contents:
